Hi friends,
It's Ann from @aksbarchitect with you for another 'With 3 Things' challenge post.
For this feature on the PaperArtsy Blog 3 identical items are sent to 3 members of the PaperArtsy Blogging team. Typically we will receive a stamp, a stencil and a couple of Fresco Paints.
We have no clue what PaperArtsy HQ is going to send, the whole idea of this challenge is to do something crafty in our personal style with these 3 items. We can incorporate other PA products into the mix if we feel it is necessary.
I received a wonderful PaperArtsy stencil by Scrapcosy (PS107) as well as a gorgeous PaperArtsy Lynne Perrella Collection stamp set (LPC057) and two PaperArtsy Fresco Finish chalk acrylic paints Sage (FF66) and Rose (FF29). Immediately my mind began conjuring ideas of a spring tea party with grandmother's lacy linens.
For the challenge, I have made an envelope book, accordion-style, with places to tuck a few select tea bags and a small gift tag for someone special. Perhaps to encourage them to enjoy a spring tea time. I have added some stitching details and die cut lace pieces colored with the beautiful fresco finish acrylics.
The innermost portion of the book is made by folding a single sheet of paper to create pockets. I rummaged through my stash and found a patterned paper whose colors coordinated with the Rose and Sage Fresco paints.
When the paper was folded, I auditioned stamps to be used on the inside. I had the idea to tuck teas into the pockets, so I wanted something that worked well when the envelope was stuffed as well as when the envelope was empty. On one flap the stamp is used in its original image, without "LACE".
I embellished the stamping by added stitches and jewels.
I love the lace details in the Lynne Perrella stamp stand decided to play up these by adding dic cut lace elements cut from painted papers using the two fresco finish acrylic paints, Rose and Sage.
On the upper inside flaps I used embossing ink and embossing glaze powder to add the words "Tea Time" from the stencil (PS107).
This folded envelope book can be used all by itself, but I decided to add covers to the front and back. I auditioned which stamp I would use, then stamped it onto a piece of patterned paper.
The cover was calling for some added embellishment, similar to the internal pages...
For the back cover, as well as around the edges of the front image, I sponged paint through the floral stencil design (PS107) onto the patterned paper to create a romantic look.
I hope that you have a creative day!
Ann
