May 2025 - With 3 Things - Fabric & Lace Book {by Liesbeth Fidder-de Vos}

Hi everyone,

It's Liesbeth with you for another 'With 3 Things' challenge post.

For this feature on the PaperArtsy Blog 3 identical items are sent to 3 members of the PaperArtsy Blogging team. Typically we will receive a stamp, a stencil and a couple of Fresco Paints.
We have no clue what PaperArtsy HQ is going to send, the whole idea of this challenge is to do something crafty in our personal style with these 3 items. So exiting and so much fun!
We can incorporate other PA products into the mix if we feel it is necessary.

So let's take a look at what I received:

Surprised by and happy with this wonderful products! A very beautiful lacy PaperArtsy Lynne Perrella stamp set LPC057, Scrapcosy stencil PS107 and two beautiful soft colours of PaperArtsy Fresco paint Sage and Rose. Ideas came immediately in my mind because the combination of the three things is just perfect! This asks for fabric and lace...lots of fabric and lace...and ribbon...and silk!

I made a fabric book and two matching tags that you can put in the book.

First, for the book cover, I took a piece of fabric, from an old linen napkin, the size is about 39 x 18 cm. I painted the fabric with watered down PaperArtsy Fresco paint Sage. It's such a beautiful ,old' greyish green colour, love it!

To create an antique feeling I made some ,dirty stains' with Infusions - Just Walnut, dissolved in water.

Using a pencil, I indicated the place of the spine of the book and stamped the big woman stamp on the front with black waterproof ink, and masked her as you see here. I stenciled the flowers of the stencil  PS107 and both Fresco paints Rose and Sage around the woman.

I stamped the woman on a piece of PaperArtsy blank Tissue paper PT10 with black ink and tore her out. I removed the mask from the fabric. With a mix of PaperArtsy Fresco paint Snowflake and Rose, together they make a perfect pale pink,  I painted the face and some text to let this parts pop out later on.

The end result of the front of the book.
I glued the tissue face with PaperArtsy Matte Glaze onto the print on the fabric. (The perfect glue for tissue paper!) In this photo everything is already finished: With pencils I gave her a bit of make-up, highlighted her eyes with a white gel pen, sponged the word ,journal' from the stencil with black ink and decorated with painted lace.

Therefore I painted several bits and pieces of lace, fabric and ribbon wit the two Fresco paints Sage and Rose and a bit of Infusions - Just Walnut.

The backside of the book and the two tags are made the same way as I did  at the front side.

For the inside of the book, to create the pages,  I made two sections: two piles of fabrics and laces (19 x 38 cm) and I sew them on the spine by hand. A nice messy effect!

Here you can see a painted piece of ribbon glued at the edge of a page. I used every painted piece out- and inside the book!

For the tags I made some insert pockets out of lace. The green lace used to be a bra! :-)

And now there are lots of pages left to work on, I'm looking forward to go on with it! It was such a big pleasure to create this book. I wonder what the other two girls  come up with, using this three things!  So curious!
Wishing you a very nice day, see you next time,
