GD: Ellen Vargo project #2 Hanging Canvas Trio

"Hello again, Ellen here, back again today to share another project with Fresco Paints and my new stamps. It's so exciting to get new images to play with and I sure hope you like them. Today's project is a trio of hanging canvases. It's a pretty quick and simple project that would make a lovely wall hanging, or a nice gift.  Let's get started".

We'll start with three 4" x 4" canvases.

I had originally thought of using Inky Pool but later decided against it... we'll be using Zesty Zing and Limelight fresco paints today.

And here's a shocker! No brayer today! Yes, it's true... I just applied the paints with a good ole' paint brush - easier to blend the colors with a brush I think.

After I got the background painted, I added some collage using a printed napkin I got from a friend. I used a water brush to place water around the images I wanted to use - this makes it super easy to tear out only the section you use for collage. I used Glue 'N' seal to adhere the images to the canvas.  Sorry I missed taking the pix for this step (I just got so excited I forgot!).

Then I used the Words 3 plate to stamp the outlined alphabet stamp with Venetian Orange Archival Ink in random areas around the collage images.

Next I added some more stamping with the striped blocks border from EEV05. The striped part of the stamp will let the yellow/green show through. If you want to make those stripes white, just use a white paint pen with a fine tip, or a white gel pen to go over the stripes.

And my final bit of stamping was using my favorite dotty stamp from EEV06. I'm so in love with dotty texture these days - seriously can't get enough! As with yesterday's folder project, I stamped the dotty stamp with white paint, and then went over the centers with a fine tip black pen because I love the black and white texture.  You could leave the centers clear as well - your choice.

I stamped out a quote, glued it down the length of all three canvases, and then hooked the canvases together using Tim Holtz screw eyes and jump rings. (This part is a little time consuming, but so worth it!)  I used a centering ruler to mark the places for the screw eyes. Find the center of the canvas and place the "0" there.  Then mark at the 1" mark on either side of the center "0". Sure made it easy to know where all the little screws would go. I pushed into each mark with an awl so the screws would go in easier, screwed them in, and then joined them all together with jump rings.

I put screw eyes in the top of the canvas too, so I added some twine and a twig to use as a hanger. Here's the finished product!

I'll be back tomorrow with one more project!  Thanks!
