NEW PaperArtsy Products: JoFY Collection {February 2022}

A note from Leandra:
Welcome to a cheerful, happy JoFY release.  These stamps really do make me smile, and wait until you see Jo's gorgeous samples! They are fabulous as ever and designed to work alongside many of her previous products to add that extra-special versatility we all love so much!

Don't forget Jo will be along to share with you LIVE her new products and ideas over in our Facebook Group, PaperArtsy People shortly after this post publishes. I hope you can drop by for the live, or try to catch the replay. it's so nice to hear direct from the designer about the new release and put the face to the name!

For the next 3 months, these stamps are only available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists. Please check the list at the foot of this post or from the stockist link at the home page of the blog.

Hi everyone, Jo Firth-Young (www.jofy.co.uk) here to show you my latest release - and, as Leandra said, it is a happy new collection! There are 3 stamps and coordinating stencils all of which work really well together - you'll see from my samples how I combined them and used a variety of mediums on the projects - Fresco paints (of course!), coloured  pencils, watercolour paints and paper piecing - I had so much fun!

Last year in my Facebook group ('JoFY Jamboree!') I undertook 16 weeks of 'Seasonal Sundays' where each week I used a JOFY seasonal stamp set to create christmas cards... I think I'm still in card making mode because I feel I made more than my usual amount of cards as samples for this release - but don't worry the designs can easily be adapted/enlarged to suit journal pages or other larger projects, and the larger projects can be scaled down.

Its nice to welcome in 2022 with new stamps that I feel have a fun, optimistic, fresh feel - rainbows, phrases and flowers - ready for the spring.

Price: RRP €21.92 +VAT        Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam with a laminated storage/index sheet.

JOFY Collection Set 110 (JOFY110)

What is more magical in nature than a rainbow!!!  I love how fleeting they are - I always try to photograph them but can never fully capture their magic.  My rainbow stamps are stylised, designed for colouring, layering up and doodling onto.  Team them with the rainbow/arch stencils and we're onto a winning combination (in my humble opinion, lol)

I combined a gel printed background with stencils, stamps, fresco paints and die cuts for this card... use the rainbows complete or in part - they can be layered up and adapted for many card sizes.

If there are rainbows then there has to be gold too, surely (and touches of sparkle to add to the magic). The words are a nod to one of the most magical films of all time - The Wizard of Oz (sorry if that puts the song in your head, lol).

This stamp set has a block design - great as a background/filler image or, as I've used on the box canvas below, an abstract design.

The words stamps are designed to be used separately - I've stamped them out here so you can see the options..

JoFY Collection Set 111 (JOFY111)

I've scaled down the size of my flower designs slightly for this release, and with their stripey edges and squiggle centres they are going to work really nicely with flowers from previous releases.

I really like the phrase on this set - its a great answer to an age old question  'when is the right time?' ... now, NOW is the right time.

I made this monochromatic sample below to show how these new stamps and stencils can be combined with previous stamps (stems from JOFY74) and stencils (PS207, PS251). Later in this blog post there is a second, more colourful, flower vase sample - its interesting to see contrasting styles using the same stamps.

JoFY Collection Set 112 (JOFY112)

These flowers were adapted from pages in one of my junk/art journals - often where my designs start.  The designs can be combined to create small (or large) arrangements or stand alone as on the cards below These were created with gel printed backgrounds and show all four designs using the word strip as a background detail.

Regular Size: 6.5" x 7" (16 x 18cm) Price: RRP €5.38 + VAT

PaperArtsy Stencil 308 (PS308)

I designed this stencil so the 'rainbows' can be cut and separated, making it easier to use. The photo below shows how I've cut them up - you could separate them even more but I'd rather use them like this and then mask elements off - eg the two arches inside the arch of spots (middle row, left hand side).

I created this concertina panel by playing around with all the different shapes on the stencil.

And the arches are perfect for doodling...

The stencil rainbows/arches are designed to compliment the stamps, not match - but you can see on the card below how I've used the small foliage stems stamps to create another arch outside the stenciled ones.

PaperArtsy Stencil 309 (PS309)

Oh my goodness I love spots - big, small and everything in between!  Can you ever have too many spotty stencils?  I don't think so.  My stencil is slightly different in that it doesn't have a hard edge - which is going to make it really easy to use in layering and on gel plates. I've also made the space between the spots quite generous so it will work as a mask as well as a stencil

This panel makes me happy!!  Stenciling, stamping, paper-piecing and colouring - its all happening!  And SPOTS!!
This is the coloured sample I mentioned earlier in the blog post - another vase of flowers. This vase is created with a stamp rather than a stencil (JOFY23). The flowers are the same but the overall effect is very different.

The background of the card has been created by layering up several circular masks and stencils.  I used one of the curved leaf stems from JOFY110 to create a border.

PaperArtsy Stencil 310  (PS310)

This stencil is a larger version of the JOFY110 stamp.  I wanted to create a background design that created space for flower motifs. The work-in-progress photo below shows the stencil repeated onto a washed background. I shaded some of the 'pebbles' to give them definition and depth.

The stencil isn't only for pebbles - also looks great as a patterned background, its easy to repeat which is how I created the card below.

I hope you have as much fun with these designs as I'm having - I have lots more plans and ideas of how to use them.

Thank you, as always, for buying, using and enjoying the JOFY stamps - its always so exciting to see how you use them - don't forget to share your creations in the PaperArtsy People and JoFY Jamboree Facebook groups. We love to see what you make.

Take care

Jo
