Sara
announced her new stamps yesterday here on the blog where you will also find a link of stockists. Today, Miriam
has a post for you with selected stamps. Before she starts, here's a quick reminder of
Sara's new stamps. These are available from your favourite PA stockist now.
Hi everyone, it's Miriam with you today, and I'd like to share with you my outputs from my playtime, I
mean, research and experimenting using the shaving foam technique and
Sara's amazing new stamps and stencils. I chose the shaving foam
technique because I wanted a fresh and colourful background that was
unusual to my 'go to' styles. Believe it or not, I had never tried this
technique before either. Sara's new release screams hope, spring and
love to me and so I wanted to ensure that the stamps and stencils really
stood out and took the centre stage that they deserve.
Sargasso and Slimed Fresco acrylic paints worked really well together and added to the fresh feel that I was looking for. I thought that it worked really well for Valentine's Day or anniversaries too. I certainly think my husband would welcome the colour scheme over the traditional reds.
I normally add loads of detail to my backgrounds but due to the detail in the stamps I kept it really simple. The marbling from the shaving foam adds a lovely delicate texture which I thought was plenty for what I was hoping to achieve.
I love the bold nature of Sara's new stencils. They work so well with the detail of the stamps.
I
really enjoyed working with Sara's new release. The stamps and
stencils work so well with different mediums. I used Fresco acrylic
paints for these projects but I also stamped and coloured some of the
images in using Polychromo pencils. There are so many possibilities.
Even as I write this post I am thinking of more ideas that I would like
to try. The stamps and stencils are perfect way to wave goodbye to a
dreary Winter and to look forward to a fresh Spring. Using these with a
technique that I had not tried before was perfect and will hopefully
set me up for an exciting year of crafting ahead. I really hope that I
have encouraged you to have a play yourselves. I am sure that you will
love these stamps and stencils as much as I do.
