Hi everyone, Dounia here. 

Halloween is almost here, and Christmas not far behind, or as we call it, card season. I must admit that Halloween is quite new in France and I've never celebrated it; so I let the stamps be my guide! (I have, however, heard of Christmas... )

Tonight I wanted to give you a sense of what I might get up to with these stamps. Zinski art stamps are always full of original and expressive critters and these are no exception! They do the job by themselves, you just have togive them a backdrop and they're going to play out stories for you.

Let's take a look at each set in more detail, and some ideas with them to inspire you

'Pick your Poison' by Dounia Large 

I love bottles! When I saw this amazing series by Zinski Art, I knew I had to have a lot of them... In a dark Halloween atmosphere of course!

I like the idea of the monsters being a surprise when you open the card. Trick AND Treat! Itried not to be too influenced by Elena's choice of colors for this stamp, but it was hard... I think those "bottled spirits" can easily work one by one, for personalised cards for example.

'Spinning Spider' by Dounia Large

Look at that face! He's so cheeky! Elena's stamps have so much personality, you barely have to do anything to bring them to life! I wanted to try the acid green (radioactive?) spider. It made me realise how few green supplies I have!

Smirky spider on his silk spins when you open the card. It felt logical as he seems to smuggly hide secrets. I love how the two stamps coordinate while also working alone.

'Miss Christmas' by Dounia Large 

My first impression when I saw this stamp set was "her hat looks like a Chistmas tree!" so I took this idea and ran with it. Just the excuse I needed to bring out the foil!

I wanted it look Christmassy without the classical white/green/red palette so I went with brown tones. So happy with it! Aren't the critters in the presents the cutest?

'Reach for the stars' by Dounia Large

I always like for my stamps to have multiple uses. Sure, this one is a Christmas set but that face can easily portray other emotions. Here's an example:

I was immediately attracted to his gravity defying hat and wanted to show it off. It was my first project idea when I received the sets. I was a bit worried it would look plain but he certainly has enough character to stand alone and tell the story, even with almost no coloring. What an attention seeker!

'A little birdy told me' by Dounia Large

Finally this trio of birds has so much attitude, I could not pass them over! I love how expressive they are and how easily you can modulate their tone. I already have another series in the work (in French!). They would also work beautifuly together, for a complete judgemental panel!

I had so much fun working with this stamps, building stories around them. They're a great way to do quick personalised, seasonal cards. Despite being holiday themed, they are very versatile and so easily customisable. I already have other ideas for them, not to mention the other two sets!
