Tonight
we have another take on how to use Raquel's gorgeous stamps and
stencils by Jennie whose style fits perfectly into this genre. Jennie
always delights with such a feminine touch, and she is certainly a dab
hand with infusions too! Gorgeous inspirational ideas in this post!

A quick reminder of Raquel's new stamps and coordinating stencils...
Hi
everyone, Jennie here. In this post I wanted to share with you my take with Raquel's new products she has designed for PaperArtsy.
I absolutely adored Raquel's first stamp release and so was very excited about being involved in this new release. As
before, I fell in love with the stamps and stencils the minute I saw
them! And .... more delight when I was asked to use the Rose Stamps
(ESC04) and Stencil (PS064) for this release. The detail in the Roses is
absolutely stunning and the images, along with butterflies, stamp so
clearly. Any vintage stamper could not fail to be taken with the
gorgeous vintage bookplate which I will show can be used in so many
ways. The complementing stencil also has a number of individual elements
which I know will be used time and again.
I made a number of similar projects with the stamps, but in my mind I had a vision of Raspberry Infusions
puddling in the areas of the large Rose Stamp. In order to achieve this
I needed to emboss the image in white powder first. I have lost a
little of the detail in doing this but I do love how the watery
Infusions has settled and puddled around the image.
This
image shows the effect more clearly and how wonderfully the vintage
text fills in the gaps on the panel behind the Rose. I made four panels
in this way and decided to use them as panels on the box. I have used Smoothy Cardstock (240gms) which I coated in Chalk Fresco Paint before embossing the Rose and applying (very watery) Raspberry Infusions. Priming the cardstock before adding the Infusions ensures that the Infusions puddle rather than sink into the paper.
I also made a set of ATCs in a similar way which probably show more clearly how these stamps can be used.
This
is the same design as the panel but here I have used words from the
bookplate stamp to create a little title. Plum Archival Ink is a perfect
match for the Raspberry Infusions.
Another
similar design this time using the bookplate stamp on old book paper
and again isolating more words to create a little title plaque. This
bookplate stamp is just full of wonderful words and different fonts to
use!
This
ATC uses a small part of the gorgeous stencil (I always look to see
what elements can be used even on small projects such as ATCs). The Rose
is very easy to isolate from the main stamp - here I embossed in clear
powder over the Plum Archival Ink which makes it easier to cut out.
I also wanted to make a project where the stencil was the main focus.
I have used three parts of the stencil on this 6 x 6 panel and this time using Golden Sands Infusions.
Our drystone walls here in the garden at Tingwall are always covered in
beautiful golden yellow lichen so this is my attempt to create
something similar!
I have used the Grunge Paste in two different ways on this project. Again I used Smoothy Cardstock which had been primed with Chalk Fresco Paint. The brick texture was the first layer, the second layer then being the watery Infusions in order to colour the brickwork. Finally when everything was dry I used Grungepaste over everything for the sentiment. Depending on the colour of the Infusions below the wet Grungepaste actually picks up some of the colour. Here it is quite light, but it is worth experimenting with paste over some of the darker colours for a quite different effect.

As
you can see I have had great fun with this wonderful new release by
Raquel and I just know that both the stamps and stencils will be used
over and over in my vintage projects. I hope the projects I have shared
with you give you some ideas particularly in isolating smaller parts of
the larger stamps to use on projects.
As always thank you for joining me!
