"Valentine’s
Day is fast approaching so I thought a simple tag trio
might be fun to put together".
I started out with three Size 5 Manilla Tags along with a Red/Blue colour scheme in mind using Fresco Acrylic Paints. First I applied Sky to one tag and then Vintage Lace to the other two tags using the "pouncing" method Leandra refers to in her videos.
Then I spritzed with water and added Claret and Eggplant to the tag with the Sky background. For the other two tags I added mostly watered down Claret and Baltic Blue.

Just keep layering until you get the
background you like…keep in mind that you want to "leave a lighter center" to accentuate your hearts.
I stamped the Hot Picks 1104 script stamp twice onto the two end tags with Olive Archival Ink.

Then I stamped a small script stamp with Sepia Archival Ink onto the middle tag and a background "checkered stamp" with Rose Madder Archival Ink. You just want to add a couple of layers of color to break up the background.
Using Staz-OnJet Black Ink I stamped the Heart
from HP1104 and the Heart from Hot Pick 1105 (twice) onto metal card and trimmed to size.

The edges of all the tags had just a dusting of Old Gold Fresco Paint added with foam to break up the color of the edges. White pen dots are added around all the tags that really brighten
everything up.
Next I glued the 3 tags to a sheet of Black Chipboard and trimmed to about 1/8” all around. Turn the 3
tags over and place with a slight
space between them. Add a piece of Tissue Tape to the seams .... "this will allow them to fold a
bit".
Next add your 3 hearts with a layer of chipboard
or foam tape to raise them up. I
stamped onto an X and an O cut with the Sizzix Alphabet Die - Word Play using Archival Ink (Jet Black) and the script from the Lynne Perrella Collection.

Glue these onto the bottom of the center tag. The large Rhinestones were glued over the tag holes.

Leandra Says: Any valentine would be chuffed to receive this trio! Its cool how you used just the small script part of the Lynne Perrella stamp set!
Gillian Says: I love the contrasting details to this tag trio, not only with the Blue Fresco Paints but also with the big bold/small script stamps which really enhances the centre tag. Again the addition of the white makes everything else "pop". Love this trio Linda!

Just beautiful Linda, I just need a day off now so I can play xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda for another gorgeous post. Love how you spritz then add paint. Such a great way to get the paint to the consistency you want it to be, and the colour stays true. Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteFab trio of tags here, I can see I'm going to have to do a bit of improvising, but we'll get there!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother fab inspirational piece - thanks

Sorry, I forgot to say. I love how the addition of the white dots around the outside really brightens the tags up and brings them to life.
