A note from Leandra ...

Well I am!! I have had so much fun with this release, and I'm sure you'll see that when you scroll down to see all the samples, and the range of ideas I came up with.
I always wanted this collection to be versatile. Versatile is my middle name/mantra when it comes to designing products. This collection is a bit minimalist at first look, but as you will see with the colours I chose this time, it can go fresh and clean, or a bit grungy too. So it is the perfect partner collection for all kind of stamps. Primarily these are designed as background and embellishment elements, allowing you to put whatever kind of focal you want alongside. From junk journaling to scrapbooking, card making and mixed media mayhem....this series can work across a range of genre easily!!

The more you play around with these stamps, the more they offer! So far in this collection we've had a stamps, stencils and minis.
All 3 of these new stamp sets are designed to be used interchangeably, along with any other collection too, they are typically designed for backgrounds and underlayers (bit not only those things). In fact, I made more than a few samples that use more than 2 items, so good luck choosing!. And hang in to the end to see the wooden reel I made. It's a double-sided roll, so there are a tonne of photos to see how this came out!
It's a long post, so I'm getting straight into it! Lets start with the stamps ......
Red Rubber Stamps (A5 set)

All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam, with a laminated storage/index sheet.
Eclectica³ PaperArtsy - Set 04 {EPA04}
This set has it all: words that mix and match and are a super nice size, frames that works as frames OR background building shapes, numbers in circles .... just YUM, and lines and splats that are useful if you are into journaling or perhaps even scrapbooking! I think it's a wonder-set!
Number Bubbles
Now don't get distracted by the Lynne Perrella Mini stamps, she is adorbs I know.... just tune into the rest of this! You can see it started life as a gel printed background using stencils, I spy a Tracy Scott number stencil in there for starters!
I started with the base, using the zig zag from EPA05, and actually added some others from that set too, then I got my mini positioned, and from there it was easy to build around her making sure to leave the right spaces for the words.
I liked the idea of adding the numbers in orange to mimic the orange stencilled numbers. but maybe they still are a bit bold and could be washed out a bit, I'm not sure. I think they add some balance to the black stuff on the other side. What do you think?
Final touches like this little tag made from a paint-brayered book page, and to contrast with the orange and the blue, so touches of pink on the words and the splatters.
Mixing Colours
When you start playing with paints, one of the things that is fun is to choose a few colours, and mix them in different proportions, you will generally make something that surprises you (In my video I will show you the quite unusual colour combination I got - which ended up being used for the reel project coming later on)...
...anyway... before I get to that colour combo, I was in my safe place with blues and greens. On set EPA06, there is a bold circle, so I stamped that in white paint, and that gave me splats onto which I could paint other versions of green through minty turquoise.
You can see the various colours were used to build up the layers onto this book page. And then, I very simply stamped some words, the 'grounding' scallop border, and added white paint pen. The edges were made a bit more interesting by using that oblong shape, and adding a translucent blue. None of this is rocket science, I wasn't going to show you this, it was kind of a warm up exercise for me.
Eclectica³ PaperArtsy - Set 05 {EPA05}
This second set are numerous useful border strips that are handy in all manner of ways, from card backgrounds as repeat patterns, but I love them for building some interest around the focal element I might put on a journal spread, or on a card. You do not have to use these in ink, they can be great with paints too, so think lighter colours over dark. It's just hella handy!
ZIGGY
Ziggy went fishing, and as explained above, i just added some interest to the focal with the strip patterns. Again, it was a gel printed background that was lying around, I added the frame, then the focal (an Ink & The Dog Mini)
Next step is to add the words. I found it easier to add the 2 bold words, then you can get 'your' nicely positioned in the middle. But you can put them all on an acrylic block and stamp in one go ... it just depends how snuggled up to each other you want them to be. More blue and orange, white works too! And then some paint on the 'zags' and we are all good.
Curiouser...
I started with a pre made background from a painted page that I had previously cut up, and just started layering the elements.
Happened to find my tiniest jewellery tags the other day, so they had to get included! Along with some rusty papers.
This one had the strip stamps in the background first, stamped over in paint, from the same sheet of paper as the above sample.
Then it was just a matter of stamping and building elements, again, dipping into all 3 stamp sets ... it somehow seems inevitable to do that! Finally, one of the stamps is used to make a frame for the edge.
Eclectica³ PaperArtsy - Set 06 {EPA06}
This set also has a lot going on. Super useful...there is a trend here! I specifically wanted some 'stripey' or 'boxy' elements with 'flat' tops. Why? Well they are useful. Again you can 'ground' a collage, something I typically like to do, but you can also use these very successfully to distress card edges. Or add a bit of pizzaz, like those stripes really grab your attention with the zingy mustard yellow pulling your eye to the words of this sample.
Just Because
We make art just because we can, and I like this mix of patina rusty colours, with the retro font. It actually took me some time to make this, there are a lot of small pieces of paper collage on, and then I got into the 'stabilo all' rabbit-hole adding a lot of shading a depth to the layers so they looked more dimensional. Probably a detail you will see on my live.
I'm sure you want to touch that rust on the vintage invoice layer at the bottom ... its fabulous! From there I just contrasted colours and layers with my scrap of a phrase as the focus. Simple!
The magpie in me added the shiny staples!
Oh and here you go, a photo showing those layers of paper, they were a bit crusty from picking up paint off the gel plate. Oh and I do love a bit of vintage lace!
The whole Caboodle
Our smoothy paper arrives to us in a rather large size format. We take it to the printer to have it guillotined down to the size we want (A4). Only for some reason, I think the guillotine slipped, and I found some card that is enormous. It is 16.5 inches (about 42cm) and it does feel like about half a metre wide to work on. I LOVED it!! So I thought I would do a kind of scrapbooking style background. I just love this size ...but no way could we sell it, how on earth could we ship that easily!!
You can probably figure out I did start with the stencils, that big arrow and the sort of half C shaped blobbies. Oh my how I adore that large arrow!!! Next I added the stamping into the background in colour, so the number circles, and did you spot the frames stamped in bright green and blue paints? I did those everywhere. Especially in the white spaces at the edges, they make a nice transition to the white space.
I then added the grid stencil in gold, probably should have used silver or something a bit more obvious, there is a glimmer going on. And eventually after a bit of push and pull, I added the black stamping, again, starting with the frame and working out from there. I could have bespoke made a frame using one of the stamps from EPA05.
You can see the grid stencil better in this shot, and the final step was to add some white paint pen detail to make the words pop. In these close up shots, you can see brayering was happening too to build up the background layers, nothing too crazy.
Now, let's talk about the new stencils .... well they are not a surprise now as you have kind of seen them above already ... but I did use the arrow on the roll thing coming up! Oops , let's just dropped another sneaky peek of that here shall we!
And I haven't shown you the third stencil yet properly either! So there is more to come ... lot's!

A crafter can't have too many stencils can they? They are absolutely the most useful product, especially if you are a mixed media queen! A stencil is literally is the first thing I reach for when I start anything, paints, and stencils. I LOVE them!
I think you might already know how much I adore this stencil! It's my new fave! We all can appreciate a distressed blob, so that is a big tick, but OMG this arrow on gel prints and more is a dream!!! Two words ...Grunge Paste ... that has to get involved the mix too!
A bit of an arrow
Even a bit of an arrow is a delight! This is one of the sections from my 'rolly-reely' contraption. I love the contrast, I love the distressed edges, I love that you only see part of it. It's GREAT!
Different section of the roll, and look, the arrow is going a different direction, same piece of paper, love the upside down text, love the found words, that had to be made orange .... it trule is 'une belle situation'!
You've seen these before ... bet you didn't spot the mini arrows though ... that is a stamp, stamped with 'Rusty' paint...but there is a similar version of that arrow as a stencil on PS541, and it WILL be used with Grunge Paste, I see that in my future.
Important
Then I made this delicious background with gel printing, and how cool does this turn out with the black contrast!
So I started layering up some found papers, and some images that I had stamped for another project that never got finished ... and before you know it this emerged.

There is also something about grids that I am pulled towards, and I think that is because I do love a vertical/horizontal arrangement. If you are going to buy this stencil and use it on an angle - please don't show me... i will not be able to cope with that :o( haha.
I also enjoy an open stencil, because delicate lines are another contrast to appreciate, so that is what this stencil offers. Both delicate lines, and bold square ... hmmmm but how delicate and how bold will be determined by your colour choices!
Extremely delicate Gold Grid
As I applied PS540 with gold, there is a gentle glimmer, but this gold is not a bold paint. It can be if you apply 2 layers, then it can be opaque, but I was after a kind of see through glimmer, so one gentle layer was all I did. If you could see the sample IRL you would see exactly that!
Before and After
So I did continue with a bit of a gel printing session and you can see how cool the grid looks, this was the 'Important' sample above, before the background was built on. However, I made 3 backgrounds that were a bit similar, so here is a peek at all of them...and the other 2 ended up with the word on them for the final stencil (PS541) below. So I'll share some close ups of the prints for now here.

I really got all the things I wanted in this release! Bold words in a retro font are so good on a journal page, and I'm liking that quirky 'Y' where the tail goes the opposite way - quirky details like that tickle me! Again, how cool would this look with Raquel's technique she does with ink, then bumping the stencil ???
Under Scallop
I did also have this idea in mind, that you could add an inky layer, then stamp on top with the scallop stamp from EPA06. So that is what these 2 samples are kind of showing you!
Words
So this was an interesting thing, paint down first, then Grunge Paste on top. This one I bumped the stencil down and to the right, and I realised that it would have looked better if I bumped up and then to the right ... like the next sample.
Has a bit more grounding doing it this way don't you think ?
The Roll-Reel
The substrate of this was 2 piece of heavy smoothy, they were brayered on both sides (rusty oranges and grey blues), then attached together into a long strip. First mistake was I shouldn;t have used heavy smoothy, the regular would have been easier, this is a bit stiff. And maybe I even should have used fabric, with Printed tissue glued on ... anyway, as I had no idea what I was doing, i just ploughed on ... so I'll show you the photos in order. See what you think!
