I'm super excited to share with you my newest release for PaperArtsy.

I designed these stamps long before the rain came, do you all remember those few sunny days we had when we all daydreamed about holidays while sitting in our gardens, balconies or local parks?

Well I certainly daydreamed a daydream as I looked at my neighbour's roses peeking over the fence and I watched the delicate petals falling into my garden. There they were, lying all lonely on the ground but oh so pretty and as I'm not green fingered AT all I thought how great would it be if those rose petals would fly up and build themselves into flowers on their own, like a classic Walt Disney movie, yes, I really did think that, because that's how I roll.

The daydream thinkings then evolved to... imagine if all the petals and leaves from all the variety of flowers that fall to the ground were scooped up and turned into little Petal People, Well here they are living amongst the flowers in the corners of gardens everywhere.

With the extra stamp elements you can create an abundance of patterns and borders which will happily stand alone or you can create a flower forest where the petal people can play.

You can have such fun with these and why not make leaves pink and petals green? If we're going to do fantasy let's go all the way

Hi everyone, Keren here! 

I'm delighted to be sharing some simple ideas using this wonderful Spring time inspired set. Granted, Spring is probably a fair way off in our minds (unless you are located in the Southern Hemisphere and living your best Spring life as we speak) but for those of us up here in the cold North, these are a ray of sunshine! I instantly felt better after crafting with these sets during a cold and blue chilly day!

ZinskiArt Set 68 (ZA68)

 

This first set is full of possibilities. Those leaves and wide image could turn in a wonderful set of flowers of leaves blowing about in the wind. I began with the glamorous petal girl. I'll call her Petal (so original! ;-) )

I chose a Spring-time palette of pinks, greens, blues, yellow and a little red thrown in. The background is really simple- just some distress oxide blended onto a Smoothy panel and then water spritzed onto a stencil (PS048). 

The tree is a fabulous image and if you want to paint rather than colour- it's super useful having a stamping platform so you can stamp, paint and then stamp over again to reveal the details which Elena is so good at designing.

She's a pink haired kind of girl and really suits it too. I love the quirky and fun sentiments and Hello Petal would suit so many different occasions.

The next sample was using Petal again, but when I first saw her, I thought her petal body looked remarkably like a butterfly's abdomen. If you stamp her twice, trim out another leaf and then add two more leaves also from this set, you end up with a sassy Lepidoptera.

I used a soft smooshed Distress oxide background which wouldn't 'fight' too much with our Petal. She looks just as fabulous with green hair- in fact I reckon she could rock any colour! The clouds are cut out freehand and the butterfly girl is coloured in with Copics.

I was rather taken with the tree in this lovely set. It could be weird and wonderful or very lush and green. I can see this in your journal pages and even by itself, it has presence.

I used a background created on my gel plate using the Frescos pictured above. I love how the edges of the PaperArtsy brayer make it look as if the wind is whipping around the branches.

We've come to expect fun and clever sentiments from Elena and she doesn't disappoint with this set. I love the fun yet poignant sentiment here and would love to do another project stamping out extra leaves, snipping them out and allowing them to dance around or fall down around the tree.

ZinskiArt Set 69 (ZA69)

 

This set has a cheeky character in it; petal boy or girl with their flamboyant petal garb reminded me of a carnival so I went all Notting Hill on the first project.

I tried to keep this one more clean and simple, letting the character take pride of place. It's simply coloured with Copic markers and I love that long floral image which I can imagine used for bullet journalling, frames and more.

You can see in the photo that I've added the half flower in the set as an extra headdress. Carnival dancers aren't known for their sartorial restraint! I also stamped out another petal character and trimmed out some extra neck petals, adding them with foam pads to add more dimension.

This next sample is just using the floral elements. I love that these flowers (or trees) can be wacky or graphic, backgrounds or the main thing. I've used some left over gel plate cleanup pieces to suggest a landscape and then added the coloured flowers.

Whoopsy Daisy could be a sentiment on a card to say 'sorry' as well as the perfect combination for the petal character doing something a little daft.

The final project using the set, I've left intentionally unfinished. I think sometimes when we see gaps, we like to fill them using our imagination. It could be a frame you cut out (or die cut a square or circle aperture) or the space for a sentiment (or a phrase/poem). It could be the background for another character (in which case, I'd have coloured the flowers in more subtly) or simply you could leave it as it is. What would you add to the centre? 

ZinskiArt Set 70 (ZA70)

With this last set, we have so many possibilities. Let me suggest some. First of all we have the petal character that could be a sunflower or a bright summery bloom. That face is fab- but Elena has cleverly added in a circular textural stamp that also could be an alternative to the face. You can see how I've used it below on the gel printed landscape to give more interest to my 'grass'.

That sentiment made me do it...having her shooting off the grass, springing into..well, spring!!

Just adding easy little details like a spring (which anyone can do freehand) completes the scene and makes me SMILE!

It's all coloured in with Copic markers and then there are lots of spaces for you to add doodles and details to. If you add in extra colour around the eyes (there's plenty of room) you can change the look of the flower every time.

For another idea, I've used the flower tree. I love how it's been designed as if it's a tree with flowers in it. I did think about creating a TV (adding an aerial) to the top but maybe that's for next time. 

The background is another simple blended Oxide background with a water spritzed stencil pressed into it (I used PS046). I did cut out some extra coloured flowers to have them growing around the tree.

The tree also reminds me of a window. I'm sure you could create an inside scene with the top of the tree as the window. So many ideas with this set.

Lastly, I've combined images from sets ZA69 and ZA70. The winding leaf image reminds me of the Jack and the Beanstalk tale and also makes a lovely base to add the half flower ( which I've stamped twice, coloured and adhered to make one whole flower).

If you look closely you can see that circular stamp from ZA70 that is going to be one of those stamp you use over and over! This made an easy tag that's bursting full of the joys of spring.
