2019 Topic 11: Retro Colour Palettes
This
is such a fun idea that can spin off into so many directions with ease.
Carol has chosen Kim's retro stamps with bright retro colours, and I
love the door-stop idea! There's so much satisfaction when you create a
project from fabric, and then make something from that fabric too!!! ~

Hi everyone, Carol with
you today, and I'd like to share with you a fabric doorstop. Fabric is
one of my favorite mediums to work on. I think this is simply because
sewing was my first love in the crafting world and now I love to create
my own fabric patterns with stamps and stencils either with plain cotton
as I have here, or on ready made items that I have purchased, nothing
grabs me while shopping like a nice white plain T Shirt just waiting to
be altered into your own personalised item.
So if you don't fancy making a whole item like I have here grab a T Shirt and have a go; maybe that one you dropped your takeaway down and the stain has never gone away.

I added a flower embellishment to my finished doorstop.
once all my images were painted I made up my doorstop stuffed it and added dried rice to give it some weight.
I
found some stickles in my stash that matched quite well with the Fresco
paints I had used, so I added some sparkly highlights to my images.
I stamped the flower from EKD06 three times onto white cotton and stuck this onto Grunge paper. Once coloured I layered the images up to make my embellishment. I did not have a small orange button so I painted a white one with Tango Paint to match.
I stamped and coloured a couple of acrylic charms, using stamps from EKD03. I sealed the painted sides with glossy accents. I added these with some beaded ribbon to my flower.
I enjoyed making this as I like to make useful things and it is nice to use your crafting skills to make things you will see out and about in your home.....and my cat loves the dangly charm
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
