NEW PA Winter stamps {JoFY} with Lauren Hatwell

Winter 2017: JoFY Collection

We love how Jo's new stamps always tie in with previous, and her Christmas stamps are so user-friendly and perfect for a wide range of Christmas projects. In this post, Lauren Hatwell will be sharing her ideas with the first 2 sets, and Jennie Atkinson tomorrow with the next 2.

All these new products are available from your PaperArtsy stockists now. See details in the stockists list at the foot of this post.

Hi everyone, Lauren Hatwell here.

Christmas in our house is always a family affair and we try to make as much as possible ourselves; that's a tradition that goes right back to my childhood. I just don't think it would feel the same if we didn't spend weeks making cards, presents and decorations  I love it...!

Every year I start out with big ideas and, inevitably have to rein in to get everything done.
When I know I haven't got time to footle endlessly with bits and bobs, JoFY stamps are always perfect for some quick designs that don't compromise on style.

Let's take a look at each set in more detail, and some ideas with them to inspire you. I've kept backgrounds really simple so that I can concentrate on colouring those gorgeous focal images and still get the job done in time for The Big Day! When I'm up against it, I tend to try to pare things down and play to my strengths. Christmas is one of those weird out of the box thinking times when none of the usual rules apply...

Wreathed in Smiles by Lauren Hatwell

Wow! Just look at that gorgeous wreath and the pretty stars. I just LOVE this set. Each and every element can be worked in so many different ways; from bright and fun to clean and simple - whatever takes your fancy....

I love the wreath just as it is but it's also perfect for a window, whether it be on the front of a gift box, tent card or gift bag - just to give a sneaky glimpse at what's inside.  It would make a gorgeous fabric coaster, lavender bag or tree decoration too.
Merry and Bright by Lauren Hatwell

One of my favourite elements in the set is that great big star with it's sparkly dots. I just had to use it as a focal point. I was thinking of something quick so I decided to repeat stamp it, cut out the inside of the star (I know! But I can never resist and it's something I can do in a spare five minutes quite easily)...

Now all that needs doing is to layer it over a piece of brightly coloured card, add some glitter glue and a gorgeous sentiment. I will definitely make a few of these. I think it's a great idea for Christmas tags too.

TreeMendous by Lauren Hatwell

Love, love, LOVE this tree. I saw the sentiment and the first thing I thought of was table favours. A nice little surprise parcel for everybody for after dinner. You can put anything from a favourite chocolate to a small game or gift inside.

I've used a die to make the triangular box. Heavy Smoothy Card is a must for these more dimensional makes. It's perfect for the job. I honestly never use anything else...

I love how quick and easy it is to colour these images. A little bit of gloss and sparkle here and there makes them festive and fun. That's what Christmas is all about for me. I'd love to make a sort of Nordic version with Kraft Card too. It's such a versatile stamp, this one. You can cut off the trunk and use the pile of presents on it's own. The bucket would make a great lamp if you turned it upside down and used the tree trunk as the lamp base... just sayin'!

All Wrapped Up by Lauren Hatwell

I love the little star and bauble arrangement in this set too. It's perfect for a stylishly simple tag, which led me to thinking about making my own wrapping paper. It's such a nice way to co-ordinate gifts.

What a great way to jazz up plain old cellophane or brown paper. It also scratches my repeat stamping itch perfectly. I don't know why I find it so therapeutic, but I do.... I made the dots using Snowflake Fresco Finish Paint and the large ball on my ball tool. You get a perfect dot. Easy peasy...

Starry, Starry Night by Lauren Hatwell

Slightly off piste (I wasn't actually meant to be using the snowman) - BUT I couldn't resist hiding our Snowman behind the tree. I love the way he's peering out slightly cartoon style with only one side showing...  What can I say? It had to be done... I love those little star flurries too.

This is just the beginning. There is so much more I want to make, and I've only used two of the sets (if you don't count that cheeky snowman. There's loads more festive fun to be had with these gorgeous stamps and everything works together so brilliantly. Should keep me quiet until next Christmas at least. The guys at PA HQ Will be SO pleased; they're still massaging their ears from LAST Christmas ;oD.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I've given you some useful ideas for your own Christmas makes and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, whatever you're doing.
