NEW: Winter 2017: Eclectica³ Kay Carley
In
this post we have Debs Wainwright to share her take on Kay's Xmas
stamps and stencils! And she has totally gone into think-outside-of-the-box-mode on this post!
We are also sneaking in a mention to let you know Kay has also added 2 stencils that relate to previous stamps. The Allium relates to EKC02, from February 2016 release, and the lovely snowflake coordinates with EKC04 from September 2016. I'm sure you will find them both wonderful with lots of Kay's stamps! Back to Debs tonight who has a lot of treats in store!
You can find a PaperArtsy stockist near you or online to buy these

Hi
everyone, Debs here,
My
mind went wild with ideas seeing Kay's new stamps. The various stamps
easily allow you to make different sized cards as well tags for your
parcels. How about some Christmas bunting using traditional colours and
the holly trees and berries for a lovely vintage fee? Or maybe fur trees
in grey with pink berries for a more contemporary style? What about
using an old plant pot small enough to sit on your table? Paint it
white and stamp with the flower trees in gold, add a candle with a
wooden wick - very on trend for Christmas 2017.
Tonight I am sharing with you a table place setting, with a Christmas theme. You could however, change your colours and use the ideas for other winter occasions such as weddings, christenings etc. Make your own table and drink mats by stamping your design onto tissue paper and then sticking it to your substrate, I used ceramic ones. Or make seating cards, invitations, and how about bottle charms, using shrink plastic? the possibilities are endless.
I
love how the stamps and stencils work so perfectly together! i just had
to mix them up. IU did get carried away with the tree body stencil as
it has so much potential. You can see some of my experiments on my blog.
I
found using the Stamps and Stencils so easy to layer. You could easily
make a forest full of glittery trees. I love the flower tree (as I call
it) as you can it can be used in so many way, not just as a tree, but
also having the matching stencil, you can create any background you
fancy, especially if you use a paste or medium through it.
The
great thing about this set of stamps is there are a variety of sizes in
the trees, so you can easily switch to a smaller substrate and select a
smaller stamp. I was therefore able to make a set of mats but not use
the same stamps, and they all work well together.
Although
some trees are the similar, yet different sizes, there is also a good
variety of styles, which I find really useful. I'm not one for having
everything matching identically. I like to mix it up. So as Kay has
created a good number to choose from, I could make the plate and glass
mats match but, they are similar, not an exact replica repeated a bit
smaller. Of course if that's your thing they are great for that as
well.
So,
creating the little angel was easy, as I had so much choice in how to
decorate her a dress with Stencils, and again a huge choice of which
stamps I could use for the background. I chose to use these little star
stamps but of course, they could also be little flowers.
I
loved how I could use this stamp without colour. It helped me keep the
clean and simple look I was aiming for. Equally though, it would be
great for your mixed medial projects. Imagine using it stamped into
Grunge Paste for beautiful texture. (If you use your stamps that way
don't forget to wash off the Paste immediately.)
This
was so easy to stamp onto shrink plastic, and I love how it came out. I
used a translucent plastic but it would look just as fab on clear.
The
snowflake stencil featured at the start of this post was great for
bending around shapes as well as for all your mixed media needs.
There
we have it, I nice place setting for one, for holiday festivities. I
could have created so many different variations of cards, with these
lovely stamps and Stencils. Not to mention all the different things you
could create as I've already mentioned but the list is endless. It is a
great set for all your Christmas stamping needs.
I hope I have inspired you, there are some different samples, and some
how to shots on my blog. Take care for now, and stay creative
Hugs Debs xxxx
