Eclectica³ : Sara Naumann
Sara
is back with a selection of fabulous compositional collage stamps. We love how
she has brought elements together to products fabulous designs that are
timeless. She still has the gorgeous scattered words and phrases that we
love to use, and all of these will look amazing when teamed with her
new stencils.

Hi everyone, Sara here to show you my newest stamps designed for PaperArtsy.
I
love creating collage pieces—it's actually one of the most relaxing
art-related things I do. There's something about the cutting and piecing
and gluing that puts me into an instant zen space. (Yes, I do this
old-school with scissors and glue stick!) I think these two stamp sets are my most personal, coming from my stash of photos and ephemera bits.
Tonight
I wanted to give you a sense of how I'm using one of the new stamps and
one of the stencils, but over the next 2 nights, you'll see even more
inspiration
from 2 other fantastic bloggers using the other two items in the
collection.
Creating
a cluster of elements in the center (or center-ish) of the piece helps
to make a bold statement on a card. This is where you can really have
fun stamping and stenciling and grouping pieces together, with foam
mounting squares to create dimension.
I
wanted the collage stamps to be good companions with some of my other
favorite art supplies, like Infusions. Simply stamping the elements in
black gives an easy contrast to the abstract background. For reference, I
used Slime, Frankly Scarlet and A Bit Jaded for the background.
I
love pulling stencil images "out" from the stencil itself...using
embossing ink through the stencil and covering with powder is a good
way—this also allows me to cut out the branch and use it as an
embellishment.
The
quote "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing" from Helen Keller
is one of my favorites, and I love how the long stamped sentiment
"grounds" the overall design.
I
am really so very excited to share these new stamps and stencils with
you. My goal is to offer you tools that you can use right away to create
your own designs—whether that's for cardmaking, altered art, home decor
or other paper crafts. There's a lot of potential here...I think they give us substantial key focal elements, and give you the option to do your own collaging if you wish.
You can find me teaching at the following venues over the next few months: Aberdaron, Wales in October 9-14, 2017!
We love this idea Sara. The use of bright colour in the background really allows the collage stamped and layered on top to pop. These are going to be so useful, and I cannot wait to see what the others get up to with these!
