NEW {Eclectica³ Alison Bomber} with Ingrid Vichova

Pocket Journal by Ingrid Vichova

It is always an absolute delight to have Ingrid feature on the blog, and tonight you are in for a treat with her lusciously bright take with Alison's stamps. Not only is this a practical project, but it looks like so much fun too!!

Here's a reminder of the new stamps designed by our new kid on the block, Alison Bomber!

Over the next 3 nights we have {designer} and 2 of our talented bloggers presenting these fabulous new products to you in 3 different ways.

All these new products are available from your PaperArtsy stockists now. See the list at the foot of this post.

~ Leandra

Hi everyone, Ingrid here to show you Alison's newest stamps designed for PaperArtsy. I hope you will find some inspiration here today.

Have you ever found yourself browsing Pinterest to find the right quote for your journaling or a card? I have, many times! So when Alison put together two whole sets of beautifully meaningful quotes, I got all excited. I don't have to search high and low for the right motto anymore. I can pick one and create around it or the other way around. Thanks, Alison! :)

I am terribly indecisive when it comes to picking art supplies sometimes and I hate to 'procraftinate'. I was having a really hard time to pick just one so I decided to use them all! I think I only left one behind in the end as it didn't fit on the pocket, but I will find a right project for that one ;)

For this post, I created a simple and colourful...

Pocket Journal

I knew I wanted to make one, but I wasn't sure exactly how. So I started exploring the idea further and, whilst rummaging through my supplies, came across a bunch of paper CD covers that I once received by mistake. I was supposed to receive the sturdy clear ones to use them for the pesky little dies that after a use or two start falling out of their original packaging. I hate throwing things away so I stashed it knowing they would be useful one day. Today is the day!

I had a great messy fun using a whole bunch of the gorgeous Fresco Finish Chalk Paints on my Gelli Plate. I tried to keep it fairly simple but colourful. Using Gelli Plate is a great exercise for those who have a problem 'letting go' and overthinking it when creating. Fear not... You're not alone! I do have to laugh when my palette paper ends up looking better than what I am working on :D

In case you wonder, I used a bunch of other stamps from Paperartsy, such as EEV05 by Ellen Vargo, ELB31, ELB34 by Lin Brown as well as the stencils by Kim Dellow. Once again, I tried to go with the flow and was not looking for perfection. I was going for a more distressed look.

I wanted Alison's stamps to pop so I went for a white for contrast and a bit of sponging with dark brown ink did the trick. Gluing two of the pockets together and adding paint to them made them sturdy after all. It also meant that I have two pockets on each side of the pages. I might use them for smaller dies after all and be reminded of the beautiful quotes each time I list through them. Or I might store some die cuts in the pockets...

Let me know your thoughts of what you would use it for in the comments below. I shall look forward to hearing from you. I also hope you can buy Alison's stamp sets to try them and create something for yourself.

  2. This is so fabulous, Ingrid. The colours and layers of the Gelli prints are stunning, and I love how you've shown the words can be decorative elements as well as carrying meaning. I love how the white text pops even against those busy backgrounds. Thank you so much for showcasing the stamps so beautifully.

  7. AA gorgeous project Ingrid, particularly inspiring as I'm currently hosting an envelope Circle Journal with 12 friends. This would be perfect! Love how you have incorporated these text stamps but I'm mainly wowed by the way you show just how bright and vivid the chalk paints can be. Wonderful.
