Good evening to you, Deborah here to show you how I decorated this tag box. I will eventually turn it into a box to hold my seed packets. This time of year we have old and new packets stuffed in draws all over.
The first coat of paint was Fresco Acrylic in snowflake. This primed the surface, and gave a more true colour to the Eclectica³ range of paints by Lin Brown, which are translucent.
I blended the three lightest colours over the surface, and then used chutney around the edges to age it slightly. Once this was dry I gave it a coat of Satin glaze with gave it a lovely soft sheen.
To decorate the top I stamped and cut out some flowers from Lin Brown ELB01 . I stamped the leaves in archival ink in fern green, the whole stamp once and then 2 of the leaves again to create a fuller stem. Once dry arranged the flowers, using some whole flowers plus some extra centre sections.

These were stuck down using glossy accents. Treasure gold in Spanish Topaz, was added around the edge to age it, and even more was rubbed into corners to add a dirty appearance. This was then topped with 3 more coats of satin glaze mixed with a fine gold glitter. I dried this in between coats and once thoroughly dry more treasure gold was added around the edges. The two corner pieces were painted with treasure gold in white fire and stuck in place with glossy accents.
I hope this has inspired you to make a little storage for the gardening year ahead.
Debs.
Thanks Deb from all at PaperArtsy HQ, what a wonderful piece of storage this is going to be. The aged look contrasts brilliantly with the shimmer from the gold glitter. I can see this nestled on a shelf between gardening books and balls of twine.
What a great little storage box! It could be adapted for lots of little things too... Love the shine the Satin glaze gives it.
