As soon as I was satisfied with my two lay-outs, I
added everything to the backgrounds as shown. For the corset I used foam tape.
I added some metal embellishments as well.
I glued the backgrounds into the tin and added some
lace trim at the sides of the box. I stamped the 'sewing machine oil’ stamp onto thin
paper, tore it out, coloured it and glued it onto a small glass bottle.
I glued the bottle into the tin and added a pair of
scissors embellishment too. The tin is ready!
After I finished the altered tin I had a small stack
of beautiful stamped images left, didn't throw them away, that is a waste ! So I thought, how can I use them? My idea was to
use the wonderful Crunchy Wax Kraft Paper again, I love
it! I cut out three small envelopes by using a Tim Holtz/ Sizzix Die.
I stamped the three needle packet stamps, cut them out and
sponged them brown, and crinkled, folded and glued the envelopes and cut three
pieces of fabric.
Using the stamped images and the fabric, I decorated
the envelopes.
I think it’s nice to display them in front of the
altered tin, it’s so very the same style, it fits perfectly together.
Well, this was my first week as a guest designer, I
hope you like the week's project and feel inspired to have a go yourself! I can see on twitter a lot of you had fun burning some tins already...or at least finding other ways to burn them.
Hope to see you all again next month!
