I draw the right size paper Smoothy White Stamping Card for the backgrounds by using the tin itself as
a template. I just outlined it and cut it out inside the lines, two times, one
for the bottom of the tin, one for the inside of the lid.
{A great background technique}:
I applied Coffee and Sepia Archival Ink to my craft
sheet by swiping the pad directly across the surface.
I dropped a bit of alcohol (70%) in the ink and
pressed the two papers onto the ink. I had a "happy accident" at this stage: there
still was some black ink from another project which I obviously didn’t clean very well on my
craft sheet, the extra effect was wonderful!
After drying thoroughly, I stamped the two big
wonderful stamps of HP1216 onto the two
background papers. I used Coffee Archival Ink for that.
I stamped lots of images ... maybe to many! I didn’t know of course what exactly I might need for the project, I never make plans … But …we will need the left-overs at the end!
At this point I started to design two beautiful
lay-outs. I cut out out the stamped images I needed, tore some of them in two
pieces, sponged them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, moved everything till I
was satisfied, and I stamped some small stamps on the backgrounds in Jet Black Archival Ink like the word 'Stitch’ and the scissors.
Join me again tomorrow evening for the finishing touches, and how to use the
left-overs!
