NEW PaperArtsy {2014} Products: Eclectica³ Ellen Vargo

So we have left the most secret news until the very last blog post. I'm going to cut to the chase, the wonderful, lovely, and very talented Ellen Vargo is our newest designer under the Eclectica³ Designer Stamp series.

As you have all realised from Ellen's blog (she inspired you all immensely last month), she is currently on an abstract kick. In that discovery process, she started designing her own, hand-carved stamps to generate bold patterns. But, in a cleaver twist of genius, she also has some fine detail hand-carved stamps (EEV02) that can sit beautifully on top of the bolder designs.

She also has other elements; pod, leaves, stripes etc. Naturally, all these work wonderfully with Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paints. Just look at the samples that Ellen has created below. I love her use of white on top of dark, and the way she outlines with pigment pens (black and white). This adds to the mix a plethora of options and dimension to be created with these stamps.

Congratulations Ellen, we are thrilled to bring your designs on board. I know over the next 3 nights you have complete control of this blog with your second round of Guest Contributions for this semester, and it will be wonderful to see what you have created for us all! Perfect timing!

New {Art samples} An Ellen Vargo and Lin Brown mash-up

Linda Cain was set a secret mission to create a mash up of Eclectica³ Lin Brown, and Eclectica³ Ellen Vargo stamps. A bit like a secret partner in creative crime because no-one else knew what we were up to. The emails flying were great fun, and Ellen was beside herself with excitement.

As both collections are hand-carved, I had visions of how they could be used together, and thought Linda would be a perfect candidate to achieve this with her inimitable striking finesse. So take time to enjoy her creativity here with these stunning bold and colourful designs that she is well recognised for.

On this sample Linda Cain's background incorporates PS001, the bubbles ELB stencil. I can also see stamps from EEV04 (white eye, leaf), EEV03 (small diamonds, dash-circle). The ELB02 (Tulip) is stamped in white card on the top, and ELB Chartreuse, Tikka, Chutney and Seaweed paint with JOFY amethyst paint, Sage and Hyde Park at the edges. Looks like GP went through the Bubble stencil too and got sanded back.

Linda said this bright little number incorporates all the following. Numerous Ellen Stamps: EEV03 (Large geometric diamonds, and small diamonds, stripes, 1/2 chevron), EEV02 (white fine circles, Fine diamonds, fine leaf line). The Lin stamps are from ELB05 (large quote, small script). In addition to this she has Lin's spotty stencil over the top in white, and she used lots of Fresco Paints:Tango, Blood Orange, Autumn Fire, Caramel, Nougat, Inky Pool. Plus she has 3 Archival inks and 2 distress inks, and I think she clear embossed the Inky Pool Diamonds.

Don't forget, Ellen is a Guest Designer on the blog for us this semester, and guess what, it's her turn for the NEXT THREE NIGHTS! She is beyond excited to finally be able to share with you all her ideas for these stamps! So check back the next 3 nights to see the endless possibilities of  abstract creativity.

All Ellen's stamps will be available via your local stamp store in the coming weeks. Initially shops can order online direct from PaperArtsy Trade website now, or in person at the Craft Hobby and Stitch International Trade Show, NEC Birmingham, Feb 16-18. PaperArtsy is stand A42, situated as usual in the back left hand corner of the main hall.

Shipping of all new products starts Wednesday Feb 19th, 2014.
