France Papillon #4 {Special 10th Birthday Project} ....

The birthday excitement continues again tonight on the PaperArtsy Blog. 

As you now know, we thought it would be a nice birthday touch if the final project from each of the Designers was to either work with brand new stamps being released this month, or to contribute ideas towards the creation of new minis. France came up with an idea for X-ray botanical stamps, which we found a bit tricky to generate as stamps... so we moved onto fish skeletons, and presented her with those instead...which she seemed more than happy with !! These stamps are available online tonight, just click the stamp code below each stamp image.

To celebrate I came up with some PaperArtsy Chunky Waxy ATC’s".

 

For the first step, I cut some White Coated Chipboard {so new it's not online yet} at the right size for atc’s (3 ½ inch x 2 ½ inch) and glued two layers together. On top of that, I glued a PaperArtsy complimentary card and again trimmed it to the right size.

I applied 3 layers of melted natural beeswax, taking care to keep the surface smooth and fusing all the layers (to fuse, reheat to surface until it becomes shiny, don’t melt the wax through and through).

 

To get a more workable surface, I then applied 2 layers of encaustic medium (which is an 8:1 wax – damar resin mixture). Again I fused all the layers. I added a bit of PanPastel on the edges then fused it again. 

Using Ochre and Red PanPastel, I stamped parts of Mini 62 around the edges and added blue oil stick accents.The finishing touch is the brand new MN100 and MN101, stamped with Black StazOn on top of the waxy ATC.
