2020 Topic 6: Jungle Vibes
The
creative mind knows no bounds and can look beyond the obvious to
imagine something much more. Autumn has taken to re-imagining to another
level. Sea plants to jungle vines and leaves into lush jungle. What a
wonderful spectacle!

Hi everyone, it's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today, and I'd like to share with you my vintage modern makes for our current In the Jungle topic.
More than the actual theme of Jungle, I wanted to convey a feeling, that of escape. My projects were inspired by a quote from PaperArtsy Eclectica³ {Alison Bomber} Collection EAB07, "She is in a world of private dreams, and not with us." by Charlotte Bronte. During these stressful times in which we live, one must find an escape from thoughts to dreams...
My focus stamp set was PaperArtsy {Lynne Perrella} Collection LPC046.
This image is quite profound, expressing fully the jungle that our
minds can become if we do not take time for creative escape. Yet even
in the messy weeds, flowers can still bloom. There is always hope!
Now
how to convey those feelings through art... First, I really wanted a
modern pop of pink against my greenery, so I turned to Fresco Chalk Acrylic in Blush
and painted some textured watercolor panels. I really love the
feminine vibe this took the whole project. For my soft green I used
Distress Oxide in Evergreen Bough.
I watercolored my faces and a flower from PaperArtsy Eclectica³ {Gwen Lafleur} Collection ELG05. I brought in some warmer tones to compliment the skintones.
I love how the seaweed gives the illusion of movement in the background! It is from one of my favorite stamp sets ever, PaperArtsy Eclectica³ {Scrapcosy} Collection ESC10.

What
kind of fantastical hideaway could you strum up to get out of your head
for a while? An undersea terrain or a glimpse between the stars? I've
turned seaweed into vines and magnolia leaves into jungle covering.
What spin could your stamps take? It was really fun for me to flip
through my stamp sets and try to see them in a new way and I know it
will be for you too! Until next time...
Hugs, Autumn

Wonderful! I love the turn your imagination has taken with this ethereal project. It has always meant a lot to me to be able to escape in my own head and never more so than at the moment,
