2019 #20 A Bit of Sparkle: Hanging the Stocking with ETS {by Carol Fox}

2019 Topic 20: A Bit of Sparkle

Carol's superbly stamped fabric stocking is a gift anyone would love to hang on their fireplace. The acrylic glittered shapes look as if

Hi everyone, it's Carol with you today, and I'd like to share with you a Christmas Stocking. It is stencilled on the main body with stamping on the cuff . I added acrylic shapes and bells as an embellishment to give it that Christmas Jingle.
Apart from the drying time that the Stickles took, this is actually quite a quick project (once I decided what to do). I am going to turn it into an adult selection box and stuff it full of things like Ferrero Rocher and Liquor Choccies, then stick a Father Christmas out the top and give it as a Christmas Present.

Here it hangs complete with bells, acrylic charms and a gold tassel.

I created a background on my stocking shape using Red Lipstick and Stencil PS117. As you can see I turned my stencil so the words filled my background.

 On the cuff I used the long star stamp from ETS12 and coloured this with Slimed, Glass Blue, Red Lipstick and Yellow Submarine.

I decided I would like some bobble trim along the bottom of the cuff. I always buy things like this in white or cream so I can colour them as I want. I was unsure if I would like Red or green Trim so I coloured some with both. Here it is coloured with Red Lipstick.

Here it is with Slimed.

I used stamps from ETS13 and embossed in black onto some acrylic shapes.

Here they are with Stickles added for that bit of Christmas bling.

I assembled my stocking and started to add Stickles to the stars along the cuff.

Here it is with the bobble trim attached and I am just about to add the dried acrylic pieces to the hanging hook on the side.

I especially like the acrylic shapes. With the embossing on them they have a slightly raised finish and this holds the Stickles in place really well. I think these would look pretty added to a tree as hanging decorations as the lights would shine quite prettily through them.

Thank you for reading my post and I can be found at the following places.
