2019 #4 Tick Tock: Time for Love with ESN {by Kate Yetter}

2019 Topic 4: Tick Tock

Ohh it's really nice to see Kate making something for the wall, and this has a celebratory purpose at heart too. Sara's stamp fit the bill perfectly ~ Leandra

Hi everyone, it's Kate (https://kateyetter.com/) with you today, and I'd like to share with you an altered clock.

I wanted to create something for our family gallery that would commemorate the year that hubby and I got married. We just replaced our wall clock and I saved the old one thinking it would make a great project. When this topic presented itself I knew it would be perfect for these love themed stamps.

I enjoyed creating this clock but wish I had kept the clock works intact. The clock still worked but in my hurry to alter it I tore out the mechanism. But that's ok because I still achieved my goal of creating a love themed piece of art.

I put down a piece of brown tissue paper in the background allowing some transparency. I had a lot of fun stamping and using my infusions.

I added some sparkle by embossing in the background.

More embossing and I cut out the stamped images to act as embellishments.

I used my Fresco Finish paints and black gesso to create a rusty patina look to the wooden clock.

I decided to put the clock hands back on even though they were not working.

Don't forget to save your old clocks and turn them into a piece of art/shadow box. If they are still working make sure you take out the mechanism properly so your work of art serves a purpose besides looking pretty. I hope you will give this a try.
