Elena's
stamps released yesterday are too damn cute! Lets see how Corrie
manages to create such animated projects. She brings a whole new and fun
meaning to a balancing act! In the meantime, here's a reminder of the
new stamps.
Hi everyone, it's Corrie with
you today, and I'd like to share with you the samples I have made with
these fabulous Efilumps stamps which I keep calling Elifumps because I
can't remember their name properly.... lol!
For
this project I have made a canvas because I like doing them; this
probably stems from the time that I used to paint. I feel in my comfort
zone ! This canvas would look fabulous in a children's room, I think,
but would look equally lovely anywhere else. I got totally hooked on the
Elif....eh Efilumps and made three more samples with them, so stay
tuned!
I wanted bright colours for this projects background so I could keep the Efilumps in a lighter neutral colour. So, I love pink and orange together and decided to use those colours plus a yellow. I think it looks great.
I used Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics in the following colours: {Snowflake}, {Lemon Merinque}, {Haystack}, {Yellow Submarine}, {Tango}, {Sherbet}, {Sugar Plum} and {Spanish Mulberry}. Don't they look super yummy together!
I
started painting my canvas board (which I cut to size with a craft
knife to make it exactly the size that I wanted) with a brush but
quickly switched to using my fingers. I think you are much more able to
blend the colours nicely with your fingers.
Next I used PaperArtsy Stencil {PA023} by Clare Lloyd and Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic in {Snowflake}
to add some white dots; I used the same paint and a brayer to tone
everything down slightly. I was very happy with how it turned out so
far!
Of
course I used my Copic Markers to colour the Efilumps. I think you get
fabulous results with them. I know they are expensive but in my opinion
you get what you pay for! I just collected them a few at a time over the
last 5 years.
As
always I enjoyed colouring the images but I did add some coloured
pencil over in purple to the shadow areas of the girl elephant with the
flower in her hair. Just to give it some more depth. I also added some
white highlights here and there for more interest.
So here is another look at the finished canvas. I added some stamping to the canvas using Distress Oxide Inks: Fossilized Amber, Seedless Preserves and
Carved Pumpkin and used the heart of one of the sentiments to scatter
along the Efilumps. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut it apart and
adhered it to the canvas too. With a Big Brush Marker I added some
shading underneath the bottom Efilump.
This trio of ATC's was cut from PaperArtsy {Smoothy Heavy Card Stock} and painted again with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics, this time in the colours {Teresa Green}, {Granny Smith}, {Tinned Peas} and {Snowflake}. I added some stencilling with PaperArtsy stencil {PA023} by CLare LLoyd and some dots and stamping. I also added some washitape. I made these ATC's to show that you can make something really nice with just the small stamps from the set too.
For the last project I used a piece of 6 x 6 inches Smoothy Heavy Card Stock and brayered on Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics in the colours Ice Blue, Space Cadet, Concrete. A little amount of Little Black Dress paint was added with a pallet knife around the edges and here and there on the panel. I added some stamping with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Seth Apter's Baked Texture embossing powder in Vintage Beeswax. Again I stamped the Efilump and coloured him with Copics, cut out and adhered him to the panel. Lastly I added some white dots, the sentiment and some pieces of washi tape.
These
elephants are so much fun and they are so versatile. They would look
fabulous in an art journal spread or on a card as well. I enjoyed making
these samples and I will certainly use the stamps again. I always
forget to mention that the PaperArtsy stamps are fantastic quality and
stamp like a dream. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my post and will have a
go yourself with the lovely Efilumps by Elena or any other PA stamps.
Just don't forget to have fun!
