Hi everyone, it's (Gabrielle from Crafty Thoughts) with you today, and I'd like to share with you my journal prompts. This is a fabulous way to use those teeny paper dolls that get left in the bottom of the packet!

I often mock up journal pages because I like to have an idea of how finished pages might look and also it makes it easier to journal on the go... I can just take the things I need for that page meaning I pack a little more smartly (who am I kidding? I still take most of my Studio...!)

The basis for all journal pages is the background and I am somewhat addicted to my gel plate. The myriad of different backgrounds you can create using the same paint colours consistently astounds me! For this project I used my favourite colours - Bougainvillea, Caribbean Sea, Banana, Teresa Green, lots of Snowflake and a little Slate.

I have found that by laying a colour and then adding a layer of Snowflake I create less confused backgrounds.

I love using stencils on all my projects (such as PS001, PS021, PS023) and watching the project come alive. The lovely thing is to see are pops of Slate as you only need a small amount to bring the whole page alive! 

I stamped six backgrounds from some of my favourite Emma Godfrey plates (Emma Godfrey 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 11) and mounted them on scored black card.

The joy of Emma's stamps are the sayings/ words which can be added together (or cut apart!) to make an endless supply of phrases.

This was such fun trying to match the doll with appropriate backgrounds and sayings!

I hope you will make something with those teeny figures left in the packet of paper dolls. They are perfect to make small projects - such as mini versions of larger projects just like mine!
