Hi everyone, it's Keren Baker with you today, and I'd like to share with you a little project using mini bunting adapted from the wonderful new Tracy Scott sets. 

I wanted to do a modern take on bunting as despite being a complete bunting fan (if you could see inside my house, you'd know), I wanted to do a modern version rather than the ubiquitous triangular version that I love. The challenge was to create mini bunting but using larger blooms.

My initial plan was to have flowers strewn along some sort of repeated shape. I was hoping to use the flowers themselves until I got the frame that I'd bought for the purpose and realised that they were going to be far too large.

I used Tracy Scott stamp sets15 & 16

I thought I could use the flowers using shrink plastic- but colouring that is always a challenge. I wondered how to make larger flowers more 'mini' but I then realised that the answer to my problem was on the stamp set 16... the leaf fronds- they were the perfect baby bunting - reminiscent of the kind you see in every kitsch tea party worth its salt!

I knew I wanted to have a focal point behind the bunting and pulled out my Hot Pick 1301

To give the sentiment a bit of embellishment without overwhelming the space, I added the blooms partially around the edges and to give them dimension, added a light blue edging around each one

Once I had created the background, I spied the edging in Set 15 and thought that it might be a perfect extra straight bit of bunting.

So all that was left was to create the swathes of bunting- I had jungle-y rain forest vegetation in mind, so just attached various sizes together to create a pattern. I used Tonic alcohol markers to colour all the blooms and leaves.

I really loved creating with these Tracy Scott images - even used partially they add so much energy and vibrancy to your projects. 

This topic is the perfect way to be creative with the sets you have (or be tempted into buying one of these fab Tracy Scott sets). The flowers are a good enough size to be able to doodle and add details to and I can't wait to try them with a softer palette too.
