2018 Topic 1: ATC's
There's
something fishy afoot! In this post, Autumn shares nautical ideas while
giving you a preview of some new Scrapcosy stamps! You'll have to wait
for the big reveal in just a few more sleeps.
Hi everyone, it's Autumn with
you today, and I'd like to share an ATC triptych featuring a few
exciting new "sneak peek" images from the PaperArtsy Eclectica³
{Scrapcosy} Collection.
The
challenge for me here was to limit myself to using only a few of the
images in these stamp sets, so I worked out a series bound together by a
few common elements, and of course some lovely "nautical" twine. I
certainly didn't limit the fun as you'll see...
As
with most of my projects, I started by making a few backgrounds with
the chosen elements. I developed a delicious ombre effect onto Smoothy card using Blue Oyster Fresco Chalk Paint, Nougat Fresco Chalk Paint and a bit of Taupe Fresco Chalk Paint with a paint brush.
The
beautiful finish was the perfect surface for my embossed backgrounds.
I'm very drawn to the contrast of high sheen/matte and love the drama of
it! It is always pleasantly surprising how Distress Inks change color
when clear embossed. Can you guess these colors?
Along with my ombre backgrounds, I created a full sheet of beautiful color with In the Navy Infusions. I used this to emboss a chosen creatures from the various stamp sets and raised them above my seascape. (Just wait 'til you meet the rest of the family!)
All I needed was an ocean floor, so for my final background I scraped Grunge Paste onto a section of my leftover Infusions panel and let it dry. I added matte gel and Art Stones and then tinted them with more In the Navy Infusions. I was able to easily tear this into small pieces and tucked in some cheesecloth for extra texture.
I
encourage you to stalk the blog for the full release! The images,
sizes, and variety of designs Raquel has chosen for these sets make them
a crafter's dream! I simply cannot wait to work with the rest of my
embossed designs and to try some new colors, perhaps white embossing or A Bit Jaded Infusions. Until next time...Along with my ombre backgrounds, I created a full sheet of beautiful color with In the Navy Infusions. Lovely atc's. I like Nougat, find it such a useful colour (don't mind the kind you eat either, providing it is soft) and with these blues it seems to be the perfect foil for the images. Lovely and would look great in m small bathroom. Time to get buying and stamping.
