NEW: Eclectica³ Tracy Scott
Last year Tracy wowed us all with her stamps that scream out to be used on canvas or in journals. She always adds some serious oopmh with bold and bright use of colour, and circles are her go-to doodle elements.
And we are thrilled that Tracy also has a fabulous Paint set.
A perfect coincidence, the colours Tracy described to me as her go-to faves for a paint set turned out to be paints we reluctantly discontinued in previous years as they didn't quite fit into our current programme as well as we would have liked. So now we have the PERFECT excuse to bring them back!
Tangerine Twist (bright, translucent and gorgeously tangy)
Prawn (nothing wrong with a bright pink people, again, the slight opacity handy in layers)
Jade (deeper than other turquoise colours we have, and opaque)
When you see the samples from Tracy and her team, you will see to the paint set colours they have also added Cherry Red and Caribbean Sea to the mix, and they all fit beautifully, what a happy family!!
Here's a video introduction and some samples using these new stamps for you to check out!
As ever, we always have some super talented crafts who volunteer to help us work with our newest stamps. I'll hand over now to Tracy Scott who will introduce her support crew tonight, and has some of her own work with these new stamps to show you too.
Kick back and Enjoy!
~ Leandra
Hi everyone, Tracy Scott here to show you my newest stamps designed for PaperArtsy.
As you may or not be aware by now, I looove to doodle and add sketched elements to my projects, I am always being asked if these are stamped or hand drawn and this is always followed by a little disappointment when I say that they are hand drawn... so 'brain storm' & 'lightbulb' moment..... why not take my favourite elements and make them into stamps for everyone to use !! I decided to go with my hand drawn doodle flowers and elements for this release as they are my second favourite thing to use other than 'circles' of course and you will see there is a definite resemblance to the humble circle in some of the designs !!
I like to create stamps that can be used for a variety of applications and I think that this release is no exception.... although I naturally design with my beloved art journal and mixed media projects in mind, I believe these stamps will be equally at home on a greetings card or a beautiful scrapbook page. Versatility is definitely a key factor when deciding what designs to include in a set and I truly believe that this release will give you exactly that !!!
Tonight I invited Clare Messenger and Sandra Botham to help make samples with my new products. Please go and check out their blogs where you will find more detailed information about these stunning samples and the techniques they used to create them. Well worth a visit!
Let's start with Sandra Botham
I totally adore Sandra's simple but fearless use of colour in her art and along with the fabulous bold images she includes. I knew that this stamp release, and the fabulous new paint colours would be perfect for her to work with. Sandra has done a fantastic job showcasing the new products, bold layered designs and multi purpose uses have proved that this release is for all applications and I know her designs will appeal to both beginners and the more advanced artist, there really is something for everyone.....
'Blossoming' using ETS06/07 by Sandra Botham
I just love the simplicity of these stamps, clean and clear lines make them superb for cutting out and colouring in, it also gives the easy option of stacking them up to give 3D effects to your projects.
'Trio of ATC's' using ETS06/0708 by Sandra Botham
'Happy Birthday' using ETS07 by Sandra Botham
These stamps are fabulous as individual flowers but I love the way that the sets can be combined, and overlapped to create a striking look when all grouped together.
'Tropical' using ETS08 by Sandra Botham
I love to create in my journal and I really like how the whole set can be combined to create fabulous pages. Move the different elements around and you can get a whole new look using the same stamps making them extremely versatile.
~ Sandra
Next up we have Clare Messenger
I looove all the detail that Claire manages to include in all of her pieces, whenever you look at her art there is always something new to see, something you didn't notice before, and the way she can take the boldest colours and make them look subtle and pretty amazes me every time. Clare shows here so well how you can take all the bold elements in this release and turn them into something soft and pretty and I love that about her style, I hope you will too!
I had such fun with Tracy's funky flower. I chose to mix it up a bit by stamping the middle of the flower onto acetate.
I love the versatility of this bloom, it really does give lots of options to play and build luscious layers. I will definitely be revisiting this stamp using a variety of materials and mediums.
'Flower Power' using ETS06/07 by Clare Messenger
These stunning flowers give you so many stamping options, they really are from stamping heaven!! The curvy images give you, the stamper, an abundance of ways to paint and embellish.
I'm looking forward to trying them out on a mixed media canvas. They will also be fabulous for card-making too, they will most definitely be a go-to stamps set.
'Lollipops' using ETS07 by Clare Messenger
This was definitely my favourite stamp! Whilst planning and preparing my samples I just couldn't put it down. In my head, I have already plenty more ideas for options using this stunning bloom.
I cant wait to have a go and create some clean and simple cards as the image is so crisp and precise with clean lines and plenty of spaces to decorate.
~ Clare
So now it's time to show you what I've been up to with my new release stamps. My first thoughts for these projects was to keep them easy and simple to create, with plenty of bold elements and contrasting colour schemes and of course most of all to make them fun!
I've got a couple of step-outs with these ideas incorporating my brand new products....
Project One
'Altered Tag' using ETS05 & ETS06 by Tracy Scott
For my first step by step project I have created an altered chipboard tag.
Step One: First I needed to choose my substrate and paint colours. A large chipboard tag along with my new Limited Edition Paint Colours, adding additional colours of Caribbean Sea, Cherry Red, Chalk and Gold (another favourite !!)
Step Two: Using a mix of the Caribbean Sea, Jade & Chalk I added small dots of paint to the tag.
Step three: I used my fingers to mix the colours into the tag, swirling my fingers through the paint ( you don't want to over mix, you want to be able to see the swirls of paint!!)
Step Four: Next I took the gold paint and mixed with some water to give a runny consistency, loading up a paint brush with the paint I then added some splatters to my tag.
Step Five: While the splatters were still wet I heat dried them allowing the paint to bubble up these gives a fabulous effect and really makes the gold sparkle).
Step Six: For the next step I took a piece of smooth 240gsm card and using the Prawn, Butternut, Tangerine Twist and Cherry Red I finger painted patches of the colours into the background allowing them to overlap slightly and mix together. White splatters were added over the top using the same method as the gold paint and then a mix of stamped images from ETS05 & ETS06 were stamped with Archival black ink over the top.
Step Seven: I cut out several of the flowers and then started playing around with their placement on the tag, once I was happy I stuck all the pieces down using 3D foam tape.
Step Eight: I always like to add a hand drawn element to my projects so decided to add some scribbled leaves and a scribbled bordered with a black gel pen and also colour some elements of the flowers with a white gel pen to give some contrast.
Step Nine: And of course because you can never have enough gold splatters I added some more over the top of my flowers using the same technique as before.
Step Ten: My final step was to add a stamped quote to my tag which I stamped with black archival ink and mounted onto 3D foam tape, I then scribbled a border around it with my black gel pen to tie into the rest of the tag.
Project Two
'Believe' using ETS07 by Tracy Scott
I've also made a greetings card using the large flower from my new release ETS07.
Step One: I selected a white card blank which was 6x6 inches and started to add some of the Prawn, Butternut, Tangerine Twist and Cherry Red and blended them together on the front of my card with my fingers, leaving lots of white space.
Step Two: Using the Chalk Paint and stencil PS052 I added this to the front of my card on top of the coloured paint with 'Chalk' coloured paint.
Step Three: Next I took the gold paint, watered it down to a runny consistency, loaded it onto a paintbrush and added some gold splatters to the front of my card, drying immediately with the heat gun to allow it to bubble.
Step Four: Onto some smooth white 240gsm card I stamped the large flower from ETS07 with black archival ink.
Step Five: I used a small flat paintbrush to paint in the petals on my flowers with the Caribbean Sea paint and then added the shading with the Jade to give a two tone effect, Prawn and Butternut were used for the centre.
Step Six: I used the 'Believe' stamp from ETS04 and a black archival ink pad to stamp the sentiment to the from of my card.
Step Seven: Using a black gel pen I sketched in a scribbled border around the edge of my card and painted in some of the areas with Caribbean Sea, also adding some white gel pen detail for added interest.
Step Eight: I cut out and adhered my large flower to the front of my card using 3D foam tape.
Step Nine: As a final touch I added a few more stamped elements around the edge of my border using the small swirl cluster in ETS07 and then added some stickles to the petals and background for some extra sparkle.
I am absolutely thrilled with this new release for PaperArtsy and can see a world of potential uses for them out there, I am always happy to answer any questions that you may have, and you can always find me in the big wide world of social media (links are below...!!), thank you for stopping by today, I hope you love these products as much as I do and id love to see what you create with them !!
