NEW {Sept 2015} Products: Eclectica³ Darcy

Hi Everyone,

Leandra here with more stamps from the Eclectica³ {Darcy} Collection

Here's a video introduction and some samples using these new stamps for you to check out!

So let's take a closer look at the stamps...

As ever, we always have some super talented crafts who volunteer to help us work with our newest stamps.
Tonight we start with Sue CarringtonSue is teaching classes up in her neck of the woods now, and her samples are always stunning as you can see from her lovely makes tonight!

Winter Wishes {using EDY15 by Sue Carrington}

This cute snowman really caught my eye, there is so much detail and his little scarf and hat layer up beautifully. I can certainly see him on place settings at Christmas and also maybe on some tree decorations too !

Bauble Wall Hanging {using EDY16 by Sue Carrington}

The baubles on this set are just gorgeous and they can be used in so many ways, multiples or singles look fabulous. Lots of detail which you can highlight with doodling and I love how the Poinsettia can be used to frame the whole piece.

Poinsettia Trio {using EDY16 by Sue Carrington}

I loved how easily the Poinsettia could be layered up, these could be made into 3D flowers and would look great on a Christmas wreath too. The little trees are so useful for adding that all important detail.

Starry Christmas Tree {using EDY15 by Sue Carrington}

The stars are a fantastic stamp and as I'm a huge fan of  creating my own backgrounds I can see this being used a lot over the Christmas period. I loved the Christmas tree created from words, this too is going to be a go to stamp for me !

Next up we have  Lauren HatwellLauren is one of our most flexible creatives who we work with on a regular basis across all kinds of genres. Her striking use of colour in these samples is so effective.

Dashing Through The Snow {using EDY16 by Lauren Hatwell}

These are two of my favourite images in the set. The detail is stunning and they look so fresh stamped in white on jewel coloured card.

Star of Wonder {using EDY15 and EDY16 by Lauren Hatwell}

So many great elements on both stamp sets. I'd love to make a few of these stars and hang them at different heights on a wall or in a window.

And Glory Shone Around {using EDY15 and EDY16 by Lauren Hatwell}

This Christmas Spirit came to mind the instant I saw the stamps. I love the star stamp and the row of little trees

Be Jolly {using EDY15 by Lauren Hatwell}

Trust Darcy to give us a really different take on a snowman. I think he's great. I stamped him into wet paper clay to bring out the texture and make him look almost quilted.

Next up we have Trish Latimer. Trish is the new editor of our favourite UK publication Craft Stamper Magazine, and if you haven't checked it out since it has come under her command you certainly need to! A mixed media addict, Trish has lots of experience having been a crafter for... well... yonks! Sit back and enjoy what she has been up to with Darcy's stamps!

Leaping Reindeer {using EDY15 &16 by Trish Latimer}

The funky reindeer just looked like he was made to leap... I've put him on a bouncy acetate 'spring' so he jumps about over the trees!

Painty Snowman {using EDY15&16 by Trish Latimer}

I decided to try a 'typical Trish' background with the stamps! The Christmas images worked wonderfully when partially stamped in a collaged way onto the smeared paint, I really love the look!

Textured Tag {using EDY15 & 16 by Trish Latimer}

Acetate (the heat embossable kind) is a great way to add text to a design, it can be raised up to give dimension, but is still clear enough to to look too bulky. The tree shaped sentiment is a wonderful focal point, yet you can still see the circles of card underneath.

Hanging Stockings EDY15 & 16 by Trish Latimer}

These wonderfully detailed stockings were just made to be hung up ready to be filled! I've stamped and embossed onto watercolour paper, then painted the stockings with a teeny brush.

Our final guest tonight is Lynne Moncrieff. Lynne's projects are a joy to explore, full of layers and vintage elements with hidden and sometimes unusual techniques and treasures to be discovered.

(Oh Christmas Tree) {EDY15) by Lynne Moncrieff}

Not only beautiful in design but also a generous size of stamp, suitable for being the focal of a Christmas card without little else required.This stamp will work for you no matter whether your preferred style is traditional, whimsical or distressed.  Don't forget a touch of shimmer by tracing the outline of the script with a Stardust pen.

(A Blue Christmas) {EDY16) by Lynne Moncrieff}

I have fallen for this reindeer in a big way! Metallic Glaze painted as a top layer catches the light but what about colouring or heat embossing the image. The lovely antlers can be adorned with flat back pearls, gems, dots of Fresco, beads, or try dangling lightweight charms  or as I did for this sample, snipped some of the antlers away ....ouch!

(Trimming The Tree) {EDY16) by Lynne Moncrieff}

The dimensions of Darcy's stamps makes them ideal for festive projects beyond Christmas cards.  A simple bauble. Taking it a step further, this poinsettia would look beautiful with UTEE or Ice Resin with inclusions of glass glitter or mica flakes creating a beautiful shimmer when catching the glow from the Christmas tree lights.

(Tis The Season) {EDY15) by Lynne Moncrieff}

He is such fun and will bring a smile to anyone's face even on the frostiest of days!

If you like to layer, decoupage, your stamped images, he would be perfect what with all the detail of the snow and holly and berry on his hat and not forgetting his woolly scarf. You could even stamp a Mrs Snowman to stand by his side.

Now lets see what Darcy has been up to with her stamps. As you know Darcy is rather partial to lots of layers and certainly we still have not worked out what goes on in the head of hers to come up with such unusual items, so I am sure she will keep you entertained with her unique creativity this evening!....I'll leave you in her capable hands.

Hi Everyone, Darcy here very pleased to be showing you my newest stamps for the Xmas season ahead. I put on my Muppet's Christmas Carols cd way back in June and got cracking on finding the festive spirit. I was mindful that not everyone is a fan of traditional Christmas images so I tried to included elements that could be used all year round.

On EDY15 I included a 'with love' stamp, a hugely useful bit of text for almost every card. The stars too can be used in many backgrounds. On EDY16 The circle can be used as a frame for small words or single letters, a background element or cut apart into rings. The flower can be transformed just by altering the colours... red for a poinsettia, yellow for a sunflower. As for the button, well I have been stamping and using that on just about everything!!! The trees at the bottom can also be used all year, just blank out the little dots of snow and they can be added to any landscape.

I've made a couple of things for you tonight with a few step outs so you can see the process.
Project One: Dimensional Tree using stamp sets EDY15 and EDY16 by Darcy

First I've made a dimensional book text tree.

Step One: First I Painted a 6x6 canvas board with Mermaid, this was then rag-rolled off to add texture.  I shaded the edges with Beach Hut and stamped the background with text from both plates. The background also has white snowflakes using a stamp from EDY04.

Step Two: Now I took some old book pages and rolled them up, securing each with a little glue. once I was happy with the length of each i dripped Hey Pesto, Green Olives and Metallic Glaze over the tree shape.

Step Three: I stamped the baubles from EDY16 and also the button from the centre of the poinsettia, then I stamped the holly from the snowmans hat on EDY15. These were all painted and cut out before being attached to the tree.

Step Four:  Finally Liquid pearls and stickles were added to the baubles and the canvas edges.

And here is my second project ....

Project Two: Notebook Cover using stamp sets EDY15 and EDY16 by Darcy

This time I've made a simple notebook cover. I was mindful of wanting to use some of these stamps throughout the year and not just at Christmas.

Step One: First I masked off stripes on a small notebook, into the gaps I scraped some Graphite Texture Paste, these were then left to dry.

Step Two: Next I stamped the stars from EDY15 onto various coloured strips of smoothy card.

I also cut out some small squares and pressed these into selected areas of the larger stamps. You might spot parts of the snowman, the baubles and the flower button.

Step Three: Now to assemble, I began glueing the strips and squares into place inbetween the graphite paste stripes.

Step Four: Finally a closure, on the back I used the circle stamp from EDY16, layered up with the button. For the front I used the centre set of petals from the flower on EDY15, again with a contrasting button. These were joined by a double layer strip of embossed Crunchy paper.  A small amount of velcro was attached to the front of the book and the flower to hold the book closed.

Here is a bonus quickie..

 I painted up some MDF stars, these were stamped and layered up with the circle stamp. I used lots of Twinkling H20's to colour them and added letters from JOFY21. These in turn were filled with WOW embossing powders.

I kept the hanging part simple, and just strung them onto driftwood.

A huge thankyou from me, Darcy, to all my gorgeous wingmen this evening You have certainly done me and the new stamps proud. I could not have created such a fun filled post without you all . I love,love the projects that you made, taking my stamps and creating things I would never have thought of. Well done girls, and thankyou so much.xx
