2015 #11 Wish {by Trish Latimer}

2015 Theme 11: Hidden Objects

Hi everyone Trish here!  I'm joining you this evening with a post about hidden objects.... although it may not be obvious at first where the 'hidden object' part comes into play lol! Keep reading for the reveal....
Whilst I love all the PA new releases (and I've used one today), I still love browsing through the older stamps in the shop. I can guarantee you'll see things you can't believe you missed, and they then just happen to fall into a shopping basket! Anyway, enough rambling.. Here is my 'hidden object' project...

Step One: I used a greyboard as my substrate for the font of my project (yes, 'front' ! All will be revealed in a minute!) I covered it with old book pages, then gave it a wash of Snowflake. I then smeared a little Limelight and Blue Oyster paint, just to vaguely represent the ground and sky.

Step Two: I added Snowflake painted accents to the background, using the Eclectica Emma Godfrey 7 set.

Step Three: As with all textured and bumpy backgrounds, the best way to get an crisp stamped image is to use tissue paper. I stamped the leaves from the Squiggly ink Flora and Fauna plate 3 onto tissue, then coloured the leaves with Limelight. The tissue was then flipped over and glued to the background.

Step Four: My main images were then stamped and coloured onto scrap card. I used the birdhouses from the Squiggly Ink Flora and Fauna plate 3,  and the Squiggly Ink mini 29 fairy. (You may notice I drew her an  arm lol!)

Step Five: The images were then cut out and assembled onto the background. I gave each birdhouse an extra long stripy stand, and glued on the additional fairy arm!

I finished this front panel by adding dots of fairy dust, some black outlines and the word 'wish'. Now... why is this only the front of my project, and where is the 'hidden object' theme?!
The panel was attached to a canvas , so when you open it up it looks like this....

The fairy has sprinkled her magic dust, and conjured up two lovebirds, nestling on a branch! The birds are on a wire, placed inside the niche of a 'back to front' canvas. These are from the Squiggly Ink Flora and Fauna plate 1.

 As you can see, the inside 'hidden' part of my project was created in much the same way as the front, the same paints and stamps used to give a cohesive look throughout. I love using canvases this way, and the niche gives a great place for a hidden object to hide! I loved this theme, so many more ideas floating around my head to try out!
I hope to see you soon!

Oh how sweet, those hidden birds on the wire are too cute. We love the simple faded background, it really lets the more colourful images pop right out. Tucking those leaves inside the niche is a very clever touch and creates a brilliant continuity.
