"Hello everyone,Anneke here. Tonight
I have another recycling project to share with you. I altered a
matchbox into a gift box. For this Christmas project I used the
beautiful ESN05 set by Sara Naumann".
The size of the matchbox I worked with is 3 x 5" (7,5 x 12,5 cm).
I started by covering the box with PaperArtsy Smoothy 240 gsm Card. I also trimmed a piece of paper to cover the bottom of the inner side element.
I coloured the box with Dina Wakley Media Paint (Sky, Lime & Turquoise). I used an old credit card to put on the paint.
I added white acrylic paint randomly to soften the colours.
I made some dots with a template, used the same colours.
To
create the tree I coloured some paper with Dina Wakley Media Paint
'Ruby' the same way. I stamped on it with a stamp from the ESN05 stamp set and StazOn Cherry Pink. I cut a triangle out of the paper for the tree and a rectangle for the tree trunk.
On the matchbox I stamped randomly with stamps from the ESN05 stamp set and StazOn Cactus Green.
With the help of a skewer I made a paper roll and attached it to the bottom of the tree.
I added some cord and a small bell.
A gift box like this is perfect to wrap up small presents/gift certificates/money....
As you see you can easily make Holiday projects without specific Christmas stamps.
I hope this post inspired you to create your own gift box. Easy peasy! Again thanks for stopping by, I'd love to see your own interpretations, so why not link up to this months challenge.
