Hello! Ellen here.
I am sooo excited! Today I've got some sneaky peeks to share! I can't show you *everything* so you'll have to look closely to see what's new. Today we'll be making a couple of cards using some of my new stamps, which will be available at your favourite PaperArtsy retailer soon! Here's one sneak peek of a new stamp plate... once you see our projects for today this pic will start to make sense!
Let's get started... Here's our first card... YES... Flowers!
And we'll be using the following supplies:
To make this card and the multi-layered flowers, first we need to make two masks of the petal we'll be using. Just stamp the petal on to card twice and cut them out.
Then, stamp the same petals onto your Smoothy Heavyweight Card Start in one corner and stamp three times with no overlapping.
Then, place your two masks over two adjacent petals, ink up your stamp again, and stamp the same petal between the first two.... like this...
Keep repeating until you have three layers of petals, always using the masks on two adjacent petals so you don't get any over-stamping. Finish one corner, then do the same in the other corner. Stamp your flower center onto white card and use a 1" circle punch to cut them out. Adhere to corners and paint in color of choice.
Once you're done stamping, use a water brush to paint in each petal with a watery mix of paint colors (yellow submarine, tango and london bus). Then use the water brush to paint in the background (beach hut and inky pool). For a finishing touch and little bit of interest, I added a small dot of glossy accents to each large black dot on the flower petals... I like that little bit of glossy shine.
Adhere to a white card base and voila! Finished!
For our next card, we'll also be building a flower, but this time we will layer lots of individual petals together...
We'll use these supplies: Fresco paints: Zesty Zing, Limelight, Hey Pesto, Tango and London Bus. Jet Black Archival Ink, Detail Water Brush, Dictionary paper, and some stamped collage tissue paper (Look closely! I'm just sayin'!)
I used a brayer to create a background. I started with zesty zing, then limelight, and then hey pesto. Then I stamped my new _____ stamp (!!!) repeatedly across the whole background, and then added some tissue collage at the top and bottom with glue 'n' seal.
To build the flower, I stamped the outline petal (!!! lots of options !!!) onto dictionary paper multiple times, then painted in each petal with a watery mix of tango and london bus. Then I cut out each petal and glued them to my card front, building three layers of petals, and then adding a flower center.
And here's our finished card again...
Hope you liked today's cards and you were able to sneak out a few extra peeks at what's coming soon! I'll be back in a few weeks for the full reveal! Take care 'til next time.
