Hanging Board {with Hot Picks Stamps byTeresa Abajo}

Hello crafty people! Teresa here with a little project that incorporates the wonderful stamps and Fresco Finish paints available at PaperArtsy. I have decorated one of the Large Hanging Chunky Boards using the Hot Picks 1301 stamp set, and made it a little more vintage with some Crackle Glaze.

First of all I applied a coat of Mud Splat paint to the board, and then added little bits of text torn out of an old book.

Following the instructions from Leandra’s YouTube video, I then added a very thin coat of Crackle Glaze and when it was dry, I dabbed on a coat of Stone paint.

It was delightful to watch the magic happen – the Crackle Glaze is amazing! I especially love that the drying time can be sped up with a heat gun. Who’s got time to watch paint dry anyway?!?

When the paint was dry, I sanded it off the areas with that had the book page underneath.

Then it was time to stamp on the board and add the details. I stamped the image from HP1301, with Watering Can Archival ink, and stamped the images again onto some scrap cardstock to cut out the flowers and butterfly.

HP1301
Blue highlights were added with some watered down Beach Hut paint. It’s a translucent paint which allows the stamped details underneath to show through. I even used it to add some colour to the grey lace trim.

The crackle effect on this piece is spectacular, and leaves the surface surprisingly smooth. Here’s a close up of the bottom right hand corner.

There you have it! This entire project could be completed in less than two hours thanks to the lovely paints and Crackle Glaze that don’t mind being rushed with a heat gun. Thanks for looking!

Teresa.

A huge thanks to Teresa from PaperArtsy for another beautiful project. You have a lovely style. My favourite part is that shabby chic corner where you have rubbed back to the text paper. As you found out the  crackle glaze provides an excellent stamping surface .
