"Hello everyone, Kate here. I am happy to be back sharing an art journal page with you. I love art journaling. It can be anything from elaborate with lots of embellishments to very simple with just a few stamps and paint. The great thing about art journaling is there is no wrong way to do it".
I started off by stamping an image from
the LPC028 in the upper right hand corner of my blank art journal page. Stamp
the image again on a piece of white cardstock and set aside for later.
I used a little bit of gesso to wash the
blank areas of the page. The gesso allows some variations in color to pop
through when adding spray inks.
I used some green ink spray and a spray bottle
of water to increase the amount of drips down the page {the same effect can be achieved by watering down your chosen Fresco colours}.
After the green ink is dry I added some
bright orange spray ink, using the same drip technique.
Color the stamped image with Bora Bora, Pumpkin Soup, and Vanilla and then cut it out.
Using scrap punchinella along with Black Soot Distress Ink,
I added a few stenciled areas in a random pattern to the background.
Using a paint brush and some water,
I blended in a few of the stenciled areas.
I glued my colored image over the stamped
image on the journal page and cut the image to be even with the side of the
page.
Lastly, I added a few lines and doodles around
the edges with a Zig Micron Pen and a few dabs of gesso with a palette knife.
See you all again tomorrow night.

Leandra Says: I like the white spaces to this journal page. The soft colours on the LP image make the other colours pop.
Gillian Says:Like Leandra I like this style of journalling, unfortunately I never seem to end up with enough white space. Thanks for sharing Kate.

colors are inviting one to write a bit and I never hesitate to write over the colors as well as using the white spaces if needed, sometimes the written word accents the creative spaces......love your page & thank you for the step by steps you used.
