The theme that "happened" (I never exactly plan) for this week is interior design and involves fabric but .... DONT PANIC - alternatives to sewing will be offered"!
First, I found a stick. It shouted "wall hanging". To help get a balance of shapes and sizes for the elements I divided up a 12"x16" sheet of paper and layed the pieces out in a pleasing composition.
I cut out backing pieces of hessian fabric, approximately 1/4" bigger all round for each section.
Now you can either sew or glue to assemble. Trap a piece of ribbon or tape between the linen and the hessian layers, making a loop at the top and leaving a tail at the bottom, and sew or glue together.
Finally I added some small bulldog clips on the ribbon ends. Voila!
I hope you enjoyed this project and feel inspired to try part of it, if not it all.Join me tomorrow evening for project #2.

Gillian Says: Clean, simple and au natural feel to this project Penny. Great composition.
