Hello it's Sue here and tonight I'm sharing a box that I've altered. I found it when I was rummaging around in my craft room and thought it would be perfect to hold all those bits and pieces that are left lying around on your craft table.....or is that just me ?
I started by sanding the box as it had quite a shiny finish. I then gave both the bottom and the lid a coat of Stone Fresco Finish. When the paint was dry I glued the die cut lattice around the base of the box.
I then started to layer up paint applying it with a brush and then using a baby wipe to blend it, drying between each layer. The colours I used were; Irish Cream, Toffee, Moccha Mousse, Chocolate Pudding and French Roast.
To add some texture to the lid I spread Grunge Paste around the corners and patted it with my spatula to create an almost stippled effect. I then used the same technique and colours as before and built up the layers of paint.
I'd got an extra piece of the lattice die cut so decided to use it as a stencil on the lid. I used Chocolate Pudding and then French Roast to add some depth.
I then tore out a blank page from an old book and stamped the large stamp from the Lynne Perella 030 set using Potting Soil Archival ink. I tore it to the size I wanted and then used Distress Inks to age the paper even more.
I then painted a watered down layer of Moccha Mousse onto some Heavy Smoothy Card and stamped the three images from the Lynne Perella 030 set and cut them out. I highlighted parts of the images using Claret Fresco Finish.
I stamped the pen nibs using part of the image from a stamp in the Lynne Perella 027 set. I then cut them out and bent the card around my pokey tool to give it some dimension.
Before sticking everything down I replaced the lattice stencil and stamped some script through it using the stamp from the Lynne Perella 014 set. I brushed some of the pieces that were left over from the die cut with Onyxite Treasure Gold and used them as embellishments on the lid.

To finish I painted the metal embellishment on the front of the lid with Chocolate Pudding and French Roast Fresco Finish and when it was dry I brushed Onyxite Treasure Gold over the top. I then brushed Onyxite Treasure Gold around the edges and corners.
I hope you've enjoyed today's project and I look forward to be being back soon!
