"Hi everyone, Penny here and welcome back for my third and last project for this week. Full marks for perseverance! I have had a ball creating my first three projects as Guest Designer".
Leandra claims that Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic paint will cover just about anything, so I thought I would put it to the test.
We
have a plentiful supply of these on this small island so without too
much worry about coastal erosion I brought home a few smooth stones.
I chose this one and following the natural shape for an outline, painted two coats of Sherbet. No problem. Darcy's stamps lend themselves well to my 3-D ideas this week and this time it's a flower garden theme.
Set EDY05 and minis EM03, EM05. I
stamped a selection of flowers and butterflies using black Archival Ink
on Smoothy White Stamping Card stock, then a few more flowers and a flourish on tissue
paper.
I
used marker pens to colour the tissue paper (leaves not needed). I cut
them out and used gloss medium to "merge" the tissue with the painted
stone surface, and then gave the whole thing another coat of medium.
I really like this as it is and you could leave it but ........... well it's not really 3-D is it?
So having coloured and cut out the card flowers and butterflies, I began to build.
"So there it is. I hope you have enjoyed this introduction to my way of thinking, and I look forward to seeing how you choose to take it further". Back next month ...... Until then!
~Penny~
Leandra Says: OMG are you sure its not a special pet rock! How wonderful would a few of these look, great use of colour, and so dimensional! I love it/ him/her! LOL
Gillian Says: GORGEOUS Oh la la ... this simply "rocks" (no pun intended). The colours and design are simply divine Penny. Huge thanks for a week of inspiring projects, look forward to next month.

Get OUTTA here! This is incredible! I have to admit...I'm sure I had a perplexed look on my face when first looking at the picture. Wondered how in the world you would stamp on a rock. Comnpletely forgot about using tissue paper. Brilliant. The 3D aspect just yanks it up a whole new level.
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow wow wow wow absolutely gorgeous stunning awesome stones, so bright and unique, I neeeeeed to find some stones like that, they would look fantastic being decorated with yummy paperartsy stash :-) Kezzy xxx

ReplyDeleteloving these - if it wasn't wet outside I'd be out there looking for stones ! your projects this weeks have all been brilliant, so clever x
ReplyDeleteBrilliant project! Lovely pop colours and great 3D idea xx
ReplyDeleteThis is such a neat idea! It reminds me of the little arrangements of air plants you can buy in garden centres but far more colourful. I can vouch for the Frescos on rocks as I have one in my garden that my son painted a cute snail on for his daughter. It's been out all winter & still looks the same.
