GD: Kate Yetter Project #2 Altered Journal {Part 2}

"Hello everyone, Kate here with tonight's project. Today I will be completing the back cover of my art journal that I started yesterday".

I started off by coating my back cover with a coat of Gesso. Once dry I brushed on Sage and Guacamole Fresco Finish Paints.

I then sprayed some green ink and allowed it to drip down the chipboard.

Using a palette knife, I sprayed a thin layer of Gesso into the centre of the chipboard cover.

I chose the castle stamp from HP1110 and stamped it directly into the centre over the Gesso.

I used several coordinating colors of Distress Markers and highlighted the areas around the castle, adding water to my markers and painting with a brush.

Using a script stamp from HP1011, I stamped randomly over the chipboard cover.

So that is the back cover completed, join me again tomorrow evening to see how I altered the some pages for the inside.

~Kate~

Leandra Says: The gesso backdrop makes a great central focus for the stamped image, looks like a reflection off the water. Perfect for that particular image.

Gillian Says: Love the combination of paints, inks and gesso.

  6. Eek, I'm really behind with my blog visiting, many apologies! That looks completely gorgeous, the buildings look as if they're in the clouds.
