Hi Everyone, Helen here. This month I've used the same Darcy stamps as before, but in a completely different way. I've gone for the shabby chic look, using scrapbook papers, muted tones (yes, muted tones!!!) and embellies.
The stamps I've used are Eclectica Darcy 08:
EDY 08 |
and the splodges from Hot Pick Extra 01 - Backgrounds:
HPXT 01 |
I stamped the house in black ink onto patterned paper (any will do):
Then cut it out and started layering up onto various script papers, and music papers.
I then stamped the door and window onto some of the spare scraps (later I stamped the cogs as well). It's easiest to press the paper down onto the part of the stamp you want:
Then I sponged on a bit of Dried Marigold ink just to make it tone in better:
Next I layered up onto a bit of duck egg blue paper and onto a brown Kraft tag. I die cut the top with the Tim Holtz On The Edge Scallops die (had it for ages and not used it much, but it gives a nice random scallop pattern). Then I added some splodges in Victorian Velvet and then Walnut Stain:
After that it was get out the embellies! I've added words and pics cut out from the scrapbook paper: A great excuse to use up scraps and tiny pieces, we all have them, right?
Finally, some upholstery braid and a brad thingy:
So there we are, my shabby chic tag! It just goes to show how versatile these stamps are.
Until next time, Helen
A huge thank you to Helen from all at PaperArtsy HQ. How fab is this? quick and quirky, and a great way to use up tiny left over embellies. these houses can be dressed in so many ways, but we love this shabby chic theme.

ReplyDeleteLove the way you used the little nest! Fabulous use of scraps too! It's wonderful how adaptable these stamps are, they can look so different depending on the colours and embellishments. Loving the textiles on this too. Julie Ann xxx
