GD: Julie Ann Lee Project #3 A Happy Ending {Part 3}

Hi there, Julie Ann here again, welcome to my last Guest Design spot! I am so sad to be saying 'Goodbye' but I do love happy endings so I'm trying to focus on all the fun and excitement of the last few months! Who knows, perhaps one day I might be allowed back for an encore? Anyway, here's tonight's 'curtain call'.

I'll also be showing you how I made a little purse to add to the project with some faux ephemera. First, having painted my back cover with Gesso, I then applied Vanilla Fresco, Yellow Submarine, an edging of Tango and a touch of Zesty Zing here and there!

I added interest to the spine by stamping the design from LPC028...

And adding an image stamped on some more of the painted card I'd prepared.

Turning my book over, I stenciled in Tango with my Prima flourish stencil. Then, using a medium thick brush I painted sweeping strokes of  Blood Orange, Nougat and Yellow Submarine to create the impression of drapery. 

I added a little bow of Seam-binding dyed with Fired Brick Distress Ink. I stamped 'Happy Ending' from Sara Nauman's Eclectica 08 onto Tango coloured card and stacked several layers. I also stamped in Vintage Sepia Versamark with Mini98 again!

To finish off I added stenciled Treasure Gold flourishes, a little Prima bird painted with Mermaid and South Pacific and some gold UTEE...

I love the idea of having all kinds of ribbons, fibres and 'danglies' attached to a journal so I decided to use a Size #7 tag and fold it into a little envelope or purse that could be attached to the journal with an eyelet. 

Here is my tag, painted in a matching colour to my book. I folded it in three places on a score board with a bone folder, making sure that the part that was to be the flap was slightly smaller. I die cut the blue card to make my ticket to a Happy Ending that could be slipped inside.

The tag can then be folded into an envelope shape. I stuck my flap down and slipped my 'extras' in the sides, but you can leave it open if you wish.

It's surprisingly easy to clip a hole in the binding with something like a 'Crop-a-dile', add an eyelet and then thread through some waxed cotton. I curled back the edges of my purse and added a metallic pearl as a faux clip. You can add all kinds of bits and pieces. I used tiny granules of UTEE to decorate the hat from LPC003

Below you can see I stamped my die-cut ticket with ESN08 'Happy Ending' stamp. There's an image from LPC028 in there and I added some 'fun' mini tags.

 I aged and tore my ticket and had fun collaging on the mini tags!

They were like mini art dolls in costume. I liked the look of this tiny Indian mirror-work mirror I found in my stash - another reminder, along with the Sara Nauman text, that the theatre holds a mirror up to nature!
