Hello everyone, Clare back with the final stage of my altered pencil case. Are we ready to see some more???
Remember that leftover piece of my pencil case from yesterday, well that got painted with 2 coats of Ice Blue Fresco paint. Then I started stamping flowers and foliage onto the panel using JOFY Collection 10 and Collection 12. All my stamping is with Black Archival Ink.
I used some scraps of Smoothy Heavy Weight White Stamping Card and roughly painted them with a co-ordinating colour palette from the Fresco paint range. The colours used were EggPlant, Ice Blue, Lilac and Guacamole.
I wanted to create a paper pieced panel and so started stamping my JOFY
images onto my painted card. While doing this I started thinking about
adding a gloss effect to some of the colour layers and then thought...I
wonder? Would I be able to create a clear crackle using Crackle Glaze and then Gloss Glaze?
What
do you think? Well, I liked it as it gave such a great contrast between
the chalk finish of the Fresco Paints and then this shiny Crackle Glaze.
Then
all my chalk finish and Crackle Glaze pieces got layered up using
different depths of foam pads/tape and some got glued directly onto the
panel using Claudine Hellmuth multi medium.
I then hot glued the finished paper pieced panel into the back of my pencil case frame.
I
snapped the pencil case shut to complete my frame. Here is my finished
pencil case frame on a shelf. My niece was in my craft room as I
finished this off and I was pondering whether to put a quote on
somewhere. She said and I quote...'step away from the box Clare it looks
nice as it is' and so that made me stop...LOL!
I will be back tomorrow with another little JOFY inspired project. I hope you can all join me.
Leandra Says:oh Clare, it looks perfect as it is. I often get asked about the crackle on top of gloss, so you have put that to rest too! Well done.
Gillian Says: Oooh love love love the finished project .. so pretty. Great idea using Crackle Glaze & Gloss Glaze .. gives a fab textured effect to the painted layers.
