Evening
all Debs here. I'm delighted to be here with you tonight.
I
have been on a crafting journey for about a year now; I'm into all
kinds of crafty makes and enjoy learning new techniques. I
particularly love to get messy with paint and ink. As spring is now upon us, I opted to make this pretty and welcoming wreath.
So here is my contribution to spring, and in
particular Easter, with this flower ring. I used fresco acrylic
paints, and grunge flower die#1 as well as stamped and cut out flowers from JOFY 24.

I
first wrapped a 10 inch polystyrene ring with burlap, lace and mixed
threads to act as a base. I then cut out my flowers, changing some in
size, and shape. I separated them into two piles. I then painted some of them with Cheesecake, Zesty Zing and Yellow Submarine . As you can see in the photo, I layered the different shades of yellow into each flower.
Then I began to paint the other pile of flowers in shades of pink, I used Dolly Mixture, Amethyst and Orchid.
Once the paint was dry, I spritzed the flowers with water to soften the paper, and rolled the petals backwards and squished them together to give a wrinkled look. I also scrunched some petals to give tattered appearance. I dried these with a heat tool and then assembled the flowers. I used some centre pieces but you could use a brad or stick a pearl in the centre to alter the look. I then added some glitter to some of the petal layers.
I also stamped and cut out 3 butterflies from hot picks 1203.

The butterflies were painted in Claret and decorated with glitter stickles round the edge. Once everything was dry, I attached the flowers and butterflies with dressmaking
pins with heads onto the ring. I added the chick to give an Easter
feel but you could adapt the flowers to any season.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my project and I would love it if you felt inspired to make a flower ring too.
Debs.
A huge thank you to Debs from all at PaperArtsy HQ. I don't think I have ever seen such a pretty wreath, the flowers are just beautiful. Scrunching them while damp has made them look so delicate, they actually look like real dried flowers. The butterflies are a great addition with that bold splash of colour. I can see this being adapted to every season and occasion.
