Included in those was some Grunge Paste and Treasure Gold. Not the kind of products normally associated with the clean and simple crafter. So here was my challenge, could I use them and stay true to my signature style...
The basic layout of today's card is not all that different to yesterday's but it's made completely differently.
Here's the products I used. You'll also need cardstock of a decent weight to cope with the Grunge Paste {Smoothy Heavyweight White Stamping Card is perfect for this}.
I started by making a stencil using the medium oak leaf die and some packaging from a cereal packet. Lay the stencil over the card ....
.... and apply Grunge Paste in a very random manner using a finger. Remove the stencil and allow this to dry thoroughly.
Once dry, replace the stencil. Apply choice of paints {Tinned Peas & Cinnamon} to a craft mat and sponge through the stencil.
Remove the stencil again. Ink up the script stamp {Mini 62} with the same paints and stamp over the leaf (if you do this while the leaf paint is still wet, it will lift off some of the paint (I quite like this effect)
Clean stamp with microfibre cloth
Once this is all dry, reapply the stencil and apply Treasure Gold Brass with your finger to bring out the texture.
I will be back tomorrow night sharing my final project of the week.
Leandra Says: Wow, such a simple idea, but loving that texture, and treasure gold is so nice and autumnal with those paint tones too! Great idea.
Gillian Says: The effect from the Treasure Gold on top of the Grunge Paste texture looks fab. Loving the versatility from the Oak Leaf dies.
