"Well last night was supposed to
be my last project until everything changed to celebrate 10 years of PaperArtsy
(woo hoo!) so here I am again and I’ve had the fab opportunity to play with
Lin’s new stamps".
ELB04 |
Just recently I’ve been trying
to improve my drawing (dream on!) and I thought it would be good to have a
little pot to keep my pens/pencils in. I
saw this wooden pot recently and thought it was perfect.
I painted it with Guacamole on the outside
and Tinned Peas on the inside.
Using Lin’s new plate of stamps ELB04,
I dabbed the leaves with a mixture of green shades
and stamped them onto
black card.
I carried on doing
this with a variety of images from the plate.
Note that when I cut them
out, I left a dark border. I just like
the way this makes the images stand out.
Lin introduced me to stamping
the images with script and it certainly gives them a lift.
To add some dimension to the flowers, I
snipped the petals open towards the centre and then rolled them with a wooden
skewer.
I glued a small
embellishment to the centre to finish.
Now back to the box. I thought it looked rather plain so stamped
one of the mini script stamps, MN62 all over it with Nougat. Here are the colours used in the project.
The words are also from ELB01.
So this really is my final
project for PaperArtsy. In honour of
PaperArtsy’s tenth birthday Leandra has given me 2 sets of Lin Brown’s new
stamps to give away, so hop over to my blog and leave a comment there for a chance to
win. (http://alcoholinky.blogspot.co.uk/)
Can I also say thanks to
everyone for their lovely comments, it’s really meant a lot to me and so has
seeing my work being reproduced and inspiring people. If you ever get the chance to be a Guest Designer do
not refuse! Congrats to Mr & Mrs
PaperArtsy on 10 years of fab products for us to “go make art” with!
Leandra Says:This is a beautiful idea. Working with Frescos onto black card certainly highlights how opaque the paints are, when you mix opaque and translucent and then print the image you get such beautiful results and variation like you have down the stalk, and on the flower heads. It's a perfect pencil pot!
Gillian Says: Such a beautiful project Carol, love the effect of stamping onto black cardstock with the Fresco Paints.
Here on the PaperArtsy Blog, we are giving away 3 sets of Lin's new stamps. Just leave a comment below, and you may get lucky!
Don't forget that if you want to join Carol in this week's challenge, then please why not have a go re-creating, or twisting-any-idea Carol has presented this week, and link your creativity here. Winners get to choose an A5 stamp set from PaperArtsy of their choice. We love to see our our designers inspire you!
