Suzanne Czosek #2 Butterfly ...

"Today my project features a metallic butterfly canvas.  I was working on another project which left me some leftover butterflies die cut from metal. I decided to use this to create a wall hanging".

I was playing around with the Metal Card and die cut out a butterfly (Memory Box – Tristan Butterfly Craft Die).  I then embossed it using an embossing folder.

I added  touches of Limelight  onto the surface.

I then added touches of the Inky Pool over areas of the butterfly.

Let the paint dry before applying Chocolate Pudding over the embossed surface.

My next step was to add some sheen/sparkle. I applied Versamark Ink over the surface. I then heat embossed using Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder. This made the whole surface shimmery. I heat embossed a gear, brad and clock hand with the Stampendous Aged Gold Embossing Enamel.  I attached them to the center of the butterfly.

I repeated the process with another piece of Metal Card and applied it over the frame.

I inked up the "Asian" script background stamp HotPicks Xtra01 - Backgrounds with LimelightFresco Paint and stamped it onto the canvas background.  I sprinkled Aged Gold Embossing Enamel over the paint and partially covered it with the powder and heat set the background.

I stamped the word "Happiness" from Hot Picks 1009 using Versafine Deep Lagoon with a touch of Versafine Vintage Sepia onto cardstock painted with Limelight.

I took some Limelight paint and poured a little onto the craft mat and added water.  I then took white tulle and smeared the paint over the tulle. I let it dry and used the tulle to apply around the frame.  Then added eye hooks on the top to attach the tulle.

After I had finished my project I thought it would be fun to add a few hanging bits and bobs.  I took and stamped the flowers from Hot Pick1009 onto Translucent Shrink Plastic.  I cut them out and punched holes into the flower.  After I shrunk the plastic with my heat gun I painted the reverse side with Limelight paint.

I attached a few more eye hooks on the bottom and attached the flowers on the bottom with jump rings.

I will be back tomorrow with my final project as Guest Designer for PaperArtsy!

Until then .... Suzz
