Michelle Webb #1 Altered Wooden House Part 2

Are you ready to join me for part 2 ... you might want to go and grab yourself a cuppa!!

Art Makes me fly....

"What better way to express my love of all things arty than with this house full of art.

This is the second part of the altered wooden house, I started yesterday. After I had finished the outside and the back of the boxes it was now time to fill it up.  Like with all my crafty projects I never know what I’m going to do until I start playing around with my crafty stash and putting things in or out if I don’t like them.

Each box is filled with things I love about art, stamping, journaling, painting, altering, canvases and embellishments".

I knew I wanted to put these rusty wings on the wooden house before I even decorated it. I love these wings so much!
{Leandra says: sorry people, rusty wings out of stock with supplier for last 2 orders...I'm still trying....check back}

In the top box is a Tim Holtz Facet with the face of the "russian doll" from the Lynne Perrella stamp collection LPC016, which I coloured with Promarkers before adhering with Glossy Accents.

LP016

For my love of art journaling I made some journals and stuck them together and put them on a wooden star (I got a bag of little wooden stars in the sale after Christmas at Hobby Craft). I used Tim Holtz Chit Chat words, and used the word "Journal" on the star.
These little chipboard butterflies are from Tando Creative and come in 4 different sizes. I’ve used 3 here. I painted them up with colour let them dry then muted them a bit with some Snowflake Fresco Paint and then used a black Aquarelle pencil to draw round the words and the edges of the butterflies. I stuck them onto strips of chipboard and stuck them into 3 small wooden stars.
An easel and paint palette is synonymous with art and I thought I could probably just make them, if I put my thinking cap on.
I started off with some plain cardboard. I cut out some strips.
I painted these strips brown with Chocolate Pudding.
I used a piece of card to make a pretend painting and hey presto we have an easel!
I made a paint palette and some tubes of paint too and stuck them into the box with the easel.
I feel my arty side is caged up when I’m at work, so here is my arty heart in a cage.
I used a Wendy Vecchi heart with a “live” Chit Chat word on it.

I made rolls of canvas in a wire basket and an open journal page with the usual drippage and circles on the page as well as some Chit Chat words too. I also used a Tim Holtz number 2 embellishment on the bottom.

This box contains a small tin with the PaperArtsy Mini11 stamped couple on it. I coloured them with Promarkers and put them in the tin, then put a “Cherish” Chit Chat word on the top. The flowers and the spirals are just another added touch.
I made the letters using the cardboard painted with Butternut Fresco Paint, then Burnt Umber brown dabbed with my finger for the middle of the square. The letters Are Tim Holtz Grungeboard letters painted with Beach Hut then sprayed with Tattered Angels Dragonfly Blue. Once this was dry I painted streaks of Snowflake down the letters. They turn blue but I like that!
{Here is the top}
{and then the bottom}
Phew .... are you all still here lol!!!  I loved creating this project and hope you have enjoyed sharing it with me. I will be back tomorrow night at the same time.

Leandra Says: Wow Michelle, the detail in this piece is simply stunning. From the self-made easel, to the embossed and intricately coloured metal...the whole piece is utterly incredible. What a great way to kick off this week, and there are so many ideas for people to pick up on and be inspired by. Thank you so very much!

Gillian Says: Bravo ... This is utterly brilliant Michelle! I love all the little compartments that reflect "who you are"! Inspiring
