Portrait of Beauties with LPC {by Etsuko Noguchi}

Hello everyone, (Etsuko) here with you today for showing you about the little book of featuring beautiful women, using three new sets of delicate and exquisite Lynne Perrella's stamps. Also, I’d like to showing a technique using PaperArtsy tissue papers and Mattints.

For this project, I used these three sets of wonderful newly released Lynne Perrella's stamps you can see here which were sent to me by PaperArtsy HQ. Stamp sets are Lynne Perrella stamp sets 082, 083 and 084 (LPC082, LPC083 and LPC084). Following on from the previous rose series, this set features beautiful ladies with a vintage feel, surrounded by lovely flowers; when I first held it in my hands, I found myself gazing at it in awe and was absolutely thrilled.

I set to work using the stated previously stamp set, along with the paints and tissue paper laid out here. From the back, in order: PaperArtsy tissue paper -  Blank PT10, Script PT12, Paris PT14; PaperArtsy Mattints - Glow, Acid, High Viz, The Pink, Bellflower and Dragonfly, PaperArtsy Infusions - Golden Sands, Terracotta, The Sage, Violet Storms, Sleight Blue, A Bit Jaded, PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics - Glacier Ice, Antarctic, Super Smooth 340gsm white card (A4 size), and a PaperArtsy Brayer.

Also I using PaperArtsy Stencil by Lynne Perrella (PS494 and 496) and JoFY (PS373).

First, I created the backgrounds for the book. The book measures 4.5 inches wide by 6 inches tall. I used Super Smooth 340gsm white card (A4 size) and arranged the design so that, when I gel-printed I could get two copies of the similar pattern from a single sheet of paper.

I also used a brayer to blend ‘Infusion - Golden Sands’ and ‘PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic - Haze and Blue Oyster’ to suit the page, creating the backgrounds for the front and back covers.

It’s not exactly a new technique, but here I’m using PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic -Pool with Lynne Perrella’s stencil (496) to add a little variation to the background.

I used a circle die to cut a hole almost in the centre of the stencil pattern, coloured the acetate with Ranger Alcohol Ink - Sail Boot Blue, attached it from behind the window, and sewed it in place with a sewing machine.

I’m making a card that peeks through that window. I stamped the beautiful lady Stamp LPC083 onto PT10 Blank Tissue Paper using Shachihata Shachi-iro - Sumiiro ink pad, then embossed it with Ranger Embossing Powder - Clear to ensure the design remained crisp and didn’t bleed when painted over. I applied a pale white colour to the face area on the reverse side of the printed tissue paper, added shading and other details on the front, and then glued it onto the card.

For the title at the top of the cover, I stamped LPC082 stamp onto Super Smooth 340gsm white card (A4 size) using the same Shachi-iro ink pad - Sumiiro (black), embossed it using Ranger Embossing Powder - Clear. And I coloured it with watercolours, cut it out, decorated the edges with lace, and finished it off as a clip to be attached to the top of the cover.

These are the finished cover, the insert card and the top clip.

I’m going to start creating pages for the collage tissue papers and the beautiful ladies who serve as focal points. Using the primary colours from Mattints - DragonflyThe Pink and Glow, I will apply random splashes of colour onto PT12 tissue paper.

Tear the paper into pieces of my choice and stick them onto each page of paper.

I used LPC082 stamp set here, as I mentioned before, most of the ladies images were printed on PT10 blank tissue paper using Shachi-iro ink pad - Sumiiro (black), then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder – Clear. I applied skin-colored paint to the face area from the back and glued them directly onto the collage pages of the book, allowing the background color to show through in the areas other than the face.

It can’t see the colour of the tissue paper very clearly here yet, but it will certainly look lovely once it’s stuck onto the paper underneath.

I also printed another image of the other lady from LPC082 onto tissue paper as described above. Since the image only showed her head, I used LPC050 to add the rest of her body, then pasted it onto collaged cardstock and cut it out. I used colored pencils to add in the areas where the color was lacking.

The image of the lady mentioned earlier will paste in the center of the book page, and it is concealed by the die cut of harlequin shape door that is placed over it, with a mechanism that allows it to peek through from time to time.

This is the background paper for The 3-4 pages spread.

As each page was a little dark, I used the PaperArtsy stencils by Lynne Perrella (PS494 and PS496) and painted over them with Fresco Paint – Wisteria to adjust the colour. Also the stencilled vellum paper will be used for the pockets.

I’ve made a little more PT12 Script tissue paper, dyed with Mattints for use in collages.

As the lady image from LP083 extends well beyond the page, I’ve made it into a bi-fold card. I collaged the tissue paper mentioned earlier onto the card, but as the colours were rather pale, I applied another coat of colour on top. As I wanted a trimmed edge on the card, I coloured white cardstock using Mattints - Foxglove and Bellflower, then stamped LPC084 on top using the Shachi-iro ink pad - Sumiiro (black) to create the trim.

On the layers on pages 5-6, I used the PaperArtsy Stencil by JoFY PS373 with Fresco paint – Snowflake, and outlined the edges with a white gel pen. At the bottom of page 3, I added of the building in black from LPC028.

On page 5, I embossed the LPC084 and the LPC006 towers onto Vellum paper using Ranger’s ‘Liquid Platinum’ embossing powder then cut them out, also I punched a hole in the gate section of the mausoleum and attached a piece of blue acetate. I printed the illustration of the lady peeking out from the mausoleum’s gate onto a separate piece of cardstock I then coloured it in and cut it out.

Finally, I fine-tuned the colours and layout to complete the design. I was also unsure at the end about how to bind the pages together, but I happened to have a small blue book ring, so I tied a ribbon through it to hold them together. Please do have a look!

I am absolutely delighted to have had the opportunity to create the project using the wonderful PaperArtsy products. I am truly fortunate to have been able to create this project again using gorgeous newly release by Lynn Perrella stamp sets.

I hope if you like this project. And I hope you’ll enjoy creating lovely projects using Lynne Perrella’s beautiful stamps. Thank you so much for visiting by.
