Thanks to Suzz for another week of wonderful projects. This coming week we welcome back our "Queen of Colour" Michelle Webb for her last week of projects as guest designer for PaperArtsy. Let's have a look at what Michelle has been creating since her last time here.

Suzanne Czosek #3 .... Bluebell Wood

"Today I am taking you on a trip to the fairy woods where if you look closely you can see a fairy house amongst the Bluebells".

I was inspired by the "doorway" in the Hot Pick 1011 plate to create a secret door that leads to a fairy house.  I stamped the image using Ranger Archival Coffee Ink onto SmoothyWhite Stamping Card.

I colored the flowers and doorway using watercolor pencils and water-brush.  I cut open the door way using a cutting knife. I then needed a fairy to hide in my doorway.

 

I stamped the lovely lady from the Architecture3 plate using Ranger Archival Ink – Coffee onto Smoothy White Stamping Card.  I colored her using the watercolor pencils and water-brush. 

 

The edges were then distressed around the doorway, next I layered the door frame over the fairy. 

I needed a few flowers to frame out the house and the flowers from the Hot Pick 1009 plate were the perfect height for my doorway.

The flowers were stamped with the same ink and on the Smoothy Stamping Card. I colored with the same watercolor pencils. I fussy cut the flowers to layer them around the doorway.

To finish off my card I needed a background:

I stamped the brick from the Architecture 3 plate using the same ink with a touch of gold colored on and smoothed out using the water-brush.  I finished the card with a banner stamped with the words Bluebell Wood.  I added a hint of the purple around the edges with watercolor pencil and the water-brush.

I can’t wait for next month to see the final projects from this term’s guest designers!

Leandra Says: a timely post as we emerge from the snow this week. My daffodils are trying to flower, but that snow keeps lingering around. We have not really gone above zero celcius this week, so hoping your cheery creative card will bring on the summer warmth soon!

Gillian Says: Love how you have not just opened the doors, but also combined them so well with the brick background, flower spray and the woman perfectly. Very clever!

Suzanne Czosek #2 Motorcycle Tin Box

Well yesterday's post from Suzz got twitter all abuzz talking about shaving foam, and even if there were other foamy alternatives.... it will be interesting to see where this week's links lead us! The prize will be 3 fresco's of your choice, so play along and link your creativity here before Sunday noon GMT.
 

"Today’s post is all about the HotPick Xtra 05 - Hardware stamps.  I have wanted to play with the hinges stamps and dies to create a project that opens and uses the decorative hinges in the set".

I managed to salvage this tin that my daughter received gum in for Christmas. 

As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for altering. I decided to paint it and stamp on it to create a masculine gift container. 

I painted the surface with a sponge using Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint Ice Blue.  This took two coats of paint.  After I finished that I wanted to give the appearance that it was aged, so I streaked on a layer of Pewter.

I then stamped over the outside surface using StazOn Jet Black Ink.  Next I stamped the motorcycles and the gears over the surface. The gears are from HotPick Xtra 01. I added white highlights to the stars in the gears.

 I die cut a few different pieces from the HardwareDie using the Metal Card.  I stamped over the die cut keyhole with the co-ordinating stamp using StazOn Jet Black Ink.

 Next I stamped the trim pieces and the handle with the numbers and table from the Ink andDog 02 set.

I wanted to add a touch of detail on the inside so I created a few inserts.

I painted them with co-ordinating Ice Blue.  I then stamped the map using StazOn Jet Black Ink onto the inserts. I stamped the sentiment using the black ink on white cardstock.  I cut the words out and pop dotted them onto the top and bottom of the tin.

Suzanne Czosek #1 .... Wander

"I am happy to be back this month sharing a variety of projects.  I started my projects with one of my favorite messy techniques of playing with shaving cream".

  

I was playing with shaving cream and wanted to try mixing it into some Fresco Paints to create a lovely mix of colors and a soft muted palette.  I squirted a little bit of shaving cream on my craft mat, then I dripped in Ice Blue, Limelight, and ChocolatePudding. 

 

The next step is to smear it anyway to give it swirls of color.  Then place the paper onto the shaving cream with paint.  Pull it up and shave off the excess shaving cream. Repeat with additional pieces of paper.

Here are a few of the different backgrounds created from the mix of paints: 

I picked out the handsome car from the Hot Pick 1207 to stamp over the background using Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink. I cut my card to fit the image. Next, I extended the image a little bit off to the right to fit the size of the card by coloring in a few more trees with a black marker.  I also use this for touch up if I don’t stamp evenly or forget to ink an area.

Stamp over the background the map from HotPick XTRA01 repeatedly and unevenly using Ranger Archival Black Ink. I distressed the edges using a distressing tool, then dragged the ink pad around the edges to add the black edging.

I added a touch of color to the scene using watercolor pencils and waterbrush. 

I die cut the clock frame and sponged with brown dye ink. I then laid it over the car and cut out the pieces that covered the car and scene.

I then finished off the card by mounting on a black card and added some metal elements with clock hands, brads and the Philosophy charm.
