Hi everyone, nice to be back with you again.
Liesbeth here with you today.
This year on the blog, we have free rein to do a deep dive into a PaperArtsy product ranges of our choosing. For this post I created an autumn-inspired ATC flagbook using the beautiful Scrapcosy stamps. I absolutely love autumn, and all those rich, warm colours that come with it.
At the top picture you see the ATC-pages, here you see the front of the flagbook. The process itself was so much fun! I never plan ahead - I just start and see what happens.
Let 's see what happened this time :-)
This are the stamps I used, beautiful vegetables and flowers. PaperArtsy Eclectica , ScrapCosy 02 and 03 (ESC02 and ESC03) and the (also ScrapCosy) stencil PS050. I had also planned to use PaperArtsy Grey Board (perfect for book covers) and PaperArtsy Grunge paste.
I decided to create a ,masterboard' for the covers of the book. I took an A4 PaperArtsy Smoothy Stamping Card (regular) and did Leandra's famous brayer technique to make a grungy background. I used PaperArtsy Fresco paints Buff, Granny Smith and Rusty. Using Tsukineko StazOn inks Rusty Brown, Olive Green and Saddle Brown I stamped some of the flowers from stamp set ESC03 spread across the paper.
I used the stencil PS050 with the Grunge Paste here and there onto the masterboard, not the entire texts, just some fragments and pieces of the borders..as if the print is worn out.
I thought it still was a bit to ,clean' , so I made everything old with a thin layer of watered down paints Smoked Paprika and French Roast. In my opinion it was exactly what it needed.
After drying everything I choose two beatiful pieces out of the masterboard and covered two pieces of grey board (10 x 15 centimeters) with it as shown here.
For the inside of the covers I cut two pieces of dark green cardstock (9,5 x 14,5 centimeters) and stamped them with Memento Luxe - Pistachio and the several stamps from the two stamp sets ECS02 and ECS03. Now it looks like watermarked paper. I used a tiny bit of gold embossing powder onto the stamped compasses for a bit of interest.
I cut the spine out of the same dark green cardstock: it measures 14,5 cm high, 16 cm wide. I scored and fold that 16 cm every two centimeters.
First I glued the folded spine onto the edges of the book covers as you see at the left side. After that I glued the ,watermarked' cardstock at the insides of the cover as you see at the right side. Hope this makes sense.
Now it's time to make the ,pages', the ATC's, and to put everything together.
An ATC measures 64 x 89 millimeters (2,5 x 3,5 inch) so I cut 6 dark green ATCs and 6 little white cards a bit smaller, about 60 x 85 mm. I pressed some colours, (orange, green, red, brown) of Distress ink direct from the ink pad onto the craft sheet, sprayed water into the ink and wiped the white cards through it, beautiful colours appeared.
I stamped the flowers and vegetables with Tsukineko StazOn ink - Jet Black and used the stencil here and there with Forest Moss Distress ink. To finish the cards I used some white gel pen and some bleach.
I glued the stamped cards onto the green ATC's.
This is how to glue the ATC's into the flagbook, it's a bit hard to show how. Hope the pictures below make it clear. Ready!
There is is, an ATC flagbook. It's also perfect to send it to someone as a very special card!

Details: Here you see the effect of the bleach and white gel pen, and the beauty and details of the stamps too.
I finished it with a small bit of gold wax on the edges of the ATC's and on the Grunge Paste on the covers.
A detail of the front cover.
The ,flags'... I hope you can see better here how to glue the edges of the cards in the spine.
Hope I inspired you to try a flagbook yourself. I loved playing with this wonderful materials and I'm happy with the result :-)
Wishing you lots of creativity and fun, see you next time!
