NEW PaperArtsy Products: France Papillon Collection {May 2022}

A note from Leandra:
I am so excited to see France doing some bullet journaling Designs. As you all know, she is incredible with her A Layer A Day art Journaling prompts, and BUJO elements are going to play into this perfectly.

The stencils compliment the stamps gorgeously, lots of interactions possible between the two offering even more versatility than you might see at first glance! So look deeper and all will be revealed!

France will be over live in PaperArtsy People shortly after this post publishes to share all the intricacies these offer along with her stunning journal pages. It's so nice to get to know each designer and their intentions about each new release, so pop on over for a look or catch the replay.

Remember, these stamps are available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists for the next 3-4 months. You can find a list from the tab at the top of the blog home page, from the Bio link on our IG, or at the foot of this blog post.

Hi everyone, France here

I'm super excited to share with you my newest release for PaperArtsy. 3 new stamps and stencils.

This time, the theme and designs were inspired by my Butterfly community members. We often talk about our bullet journaling while art journaling together and having a cross over 'art journaling - bullet journaling' stamps was clearly missing from our stash.

Price: RRP €21.92 +VAT     Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam with a laminated storage/index sheet.

France Papillon Collection Set 025 (FP025)

Having a structured bullet journal is a must have. It doesn't mean it can't have any softer and nature inspired elements in it, right?

Although these designs work perfectly in a bullet journal, my mission was to make them usable in an art journal as well. This little element is such an easy focal point to use.

And not only is it an easy focal point, it is also hiding a secret little note, which I will reveal during the live presentation of the new stamps on the Paperartsy People facebook group!

France Papillon Collection Set 026 (FP026)

As mentioned, this collection was inspired by my Butterfly community members. They were the ones asking for these specific words, because they would work in a bullet journal as well as in an art journal. We very often talk about our gratitude log in our bullet journal, so this element had to be a focal point on the stamp sets!

I really love how the birds seem to be protecting a gratitude nest. How about that image at the top of your gratitude log?

These are big stamps. To make them work best, don't hesitate to come in with a black marker to fill in the lighter spots, even if you use a stamping platform like I do to obtain the best stamping!

France Papillon Collection Set 027 (FP027)

I have been going back and forth with this art journaling spread, thinking I should add something to it. Yet I love its softness and would not want to disrupt that!

Combining the softness of the designs with soft colours makes it even more dreamy. Nonetheless, just the little buntings on a bullet journaling spread would look completely different!

Just like for the bigger birds, don't hesitate to perfect the stamping with a black marker. That is exactly what I did here!

Regular Size: 6.5" x 7" (16 x 18cm) Price: RRP €5.38 + VAT

PaperArtsy Stencil 332 (PS332)

I can see these birds appear in all kind of ways on spreads! Dabbed in with paint, traced with a pen, colorized with markers... even if they belong in the background or foreground, the possibilities are endless!

I had great fun playing with different paint colours to create the different shadings in the birds. Just like I had great fun tracing the smaller ones!

PaperArtsy Stencil 333 (PS333)

Using the tracker and notes rectangles in a bullet journal can be fun. Having a matching mask and stencil to decorate around them is just the cherry on the cake. Although they are also cool to use in a spread. Decisions, decisions... lol

For this one I combined paint and a pen again, to dab with the first one and create a color scheme in the background and a traced pattern for the focal point.

Looking at it now, I definitely need to try it the other way around as well. And you could even use the grid to create your own funky tracker!

PaperArtsy Stencil 334 (PS334)

I love buntings, they have such give such a happy and playful feel to just about anything. Especially when created with yummy Fresco Finish paint.

Here they are part of the background. But how about using them at the top of a bullet journal spread? How could that spread not be about having fun?

Despite the fact that buntings are so playful, combining them with the other elements of the stencil give them a completely different feel. And depending on your colour choice they will be part of the background or they will be more prominent.

'Remember to breathe' art journaling spread

Although PS333 looks very simple, I wanted it to be my starting point for this art journaling spread. As if compartimentalizing things that can be overwhelming and make you forget to keep your shoulders down and simply... breathe.

First I created the background color using Fresco Finish squid ink and stone with a hint of pixie dust, adding a layer of Crackle glaze in between. I let it dry and used a soft sanding block to grunge it up. After tracing the rectangles, I added light and shade with Posca pens, blending it in with water.

While the Crackle glaze was drying, I prepped all the little elements: I traced the birds using PS332 on colorized paper then retraced them in a doodling kind of way to add interest. I stamped the words from FP026 on Smoothy Card that I colorized with Copic markers matching the background. I stamped the small bunting on the same paper and colorized it in the same way.

The bullet journal stamps are great accents to be added on an art journaling spread! I used the bullets from FP025 to add matching tiny circles over the spread. I added the swirley arrow before sticking everything down, so that it would point from the bird to the focal point. Of course I had to add some matching splatters as well using China Fresco Finish paint!

After sticking everything in place, I gave the birds and tiny circles some more depth by adding color with Neocolor II pastels, blending it with water.

Thank you so much for joining me here, I am really looking forward to see how you will use these Bullet-Art journaling crossover stamps! So don't forget to tag me in your art work when sharing it on social media :)
